According to Justin Byerly, Director of Recruiting for BasketballElite.com and an analyst for CarolinaPreps, 6-5 AARON TATE is getting strong interest from St. Bonaventure and will be taking an official visit very soon. Aaron originally signed with Morehead St. but is not listed on this year's roster. Aaron supposedly has really good hops. Aaron is originally from North Carolina.

Here are his senior year stats:
Aaron Tate, West Craven’s 6-foot-5 senior power forward, was dominant inside the paint for the Eagles.
Tate, a captain, posted 12.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game.
He scored a 17 points in West Craven’s win over South Central in the Coastal Conference Tournament championship game.
Tate is signed to play college basketball at Division I Morehead State next season.

6'5" power forward makes me nervous. But good athletes are good athletes and we can get creative with the lineup if we need to.

2fal - not to be negative, but I share your concern. Sometimes a 6'5" strongman can dominate in high school, then lose confidence when, as is inevitable, they meet someone in D-1 ball who is equally dominant, but also taller and maybe stronger and with better hoops moves and experience - the formal name for this condition is Bill Moore Syndrome. But then again, if he is that good, he can be coached and can work to develop and overcome the condition.

Or he could be the next Vidal Massiah and i think we would all sign up for a 6'5-6'6 pf like him .

ceharv----Bill Moore had something else that "blunted" his game in college and it wasn't the Napoleon Complex.
Best game I saw Moore have was against Niagara & then when he dropped a pair of free throws to ice the game at the end...doing a lil dance at the line when the first one swished through.

Easy to get hung up on size when it is heart and desire that makes all equal. Wasn't it several years ago, late 90's, when GW had a 6'3 PF who was top 5 in the league in rebounding? Can't remember the kids name, but he played the position well for 4 years if my memory serves correct.

I believe the guy from GW was Chris Monroe and yes he was 6'3 or 6'4 tops but he was a beast on the inside. A real matchup problem. If a guy has the desire and a high motor it can work.

We had a 6'5'' guy on our own team just a few years ago that we frequently used in power forward roles: Jon Hall. In fact, his best game as a Bonnie was against SLU when we plugged him into the PF position and he was unstoppable against the smaller Bills in the paint. Size and listed position correspond very little, and mean absolutely nothing when making the move from HS to Div I.

Dem - I heard that also. Was it versus Niagara where he grabbed a rebound well above the rim, took off down the court and dribbled thru everyone 1 on 5, got to the rim and softly laid the ball in and everyone in the UC (showing my age) just salivated waiting for him to do that on a regular basis? - it was about as impressive a hoop as I saw in 4 years, but just left you wanting Moore (pun intended, and I apologize for it), only to be disappointed when it was followed up by a series of those high-arcing outside shots that he let go from way behind his head that would hit the rim with a loud thunk (or was it a clang - whatever sound is made by a brick hitting a rim after a long fall from high altitude)? Other than maybe Carl Jackson, have we ever had a more impressive physical specimen than Moore?
