Andrew was decked out in Bona gear for much of the week, as we're most of the other guys for their respective schools.

From Chad Ford's wrap up:

Three other players, Illinois' Meyers Leonard, St. John's Moe Harkless and St. Bonaventure's Andrew Nicholson, also really helped themselves over the past few days.

Buzz heated up around Leonard, who could leap to a lottery pick.
Leonard's name was especially hot all weekend. His size (he measured as the tallest guy at camp), athletic ability, his soft shooting touch around the basket and his excellent interviews all positioned him to move from the mid-first round into the lottery. All year, teams feared that Leonard didn't have the skill or the mental makeup to be a lottery pick. By Friday, virtually every exec in the NBA was predicting that he would go somewhere between 9 and 14 and that he had moved ahead of Tyler Zeller on their big boards.

Harkless also appeared to make the leap this weekend, going from interesting prospect to potential lottery pick. He still has a ways to go as far as making his game translate to the next level, but the raw athletic ability and elite size for his position, combined with an excellent showing both on the court and in interviews seems to have really improved his stock. I've heard his name as high as No. 7 to the Golden State Warriors and No. 8 to the Toronto Raptors.

Nicholson shot the ball as well as most of the guards at the camp, and measured with a huge 7-4 wingspan and the biggest hands at the camp. It's pretty rare that a guy who won Defensive Player of the Year in his conference is drawing raves for his offensive performance on the court. We had him pegged as the 22nd pick in the draft for the past few mocks, but I'm beginning to doubt that he'll make it to the Celtics.

"We are thrilled to have Mark Schmidt as our new men's basketball coach," said new Director of Athletics Steve Watson. "He is a proven, successful head coach who impressed us with his attitude, desire and passion. His teams at Robert Morris were known for how hard they played as well as how they improved. Mark also has a firm understanding of what it takes to compete and win in the A-10."

Chad Ford Mock Draft 6.0 from ESPN Has Andrew still taken @ 22

Boston (via Clippers)

Andrew Nicholson

PF
6-foot-9
Weight: 222 pounds
Age: 22
School: St. Bonaventure

Analysis: Nicholson is another draft sleeper who may really rise with workouts. He's a big stretch 4 who has drawn some comparisons to David West. He would be another welcome addition to the Celtics' summer makeover.

You heard it first here - AN will be picked by Toronto......his lack of tryout from the Raptors is only a smokescreen according to my NBA sources.

Toronto with the 8th Pick of the 1st Round select....really? That would be awesome for AN - I'd like to see him continue to play in NY (either team) but without a first round pick it would seem unlikely at this point. So for now, I'll just hope AN stays in the Eastern Conference! GO BONNIES!

As always, please support the BAF!

My multiple NBA sources say your NBA sources are wrong. Nicholson goes No. 1 to the Hornets.

Andrew was better: more points, equal on rebounds, more minutes, but more turnovers (both did poorly).....

Daniel Martin Jun 13, 2012, 1:44 PM EDT

Nicholson: 17 points, 8 rebounds, 0 assists, 3 steals, 1 block, 6 turnovers, 38 minutes, 7-18 from the field, 3-6 FT.

Leonard: 9 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 0 steals, 1 block, 5 turnovers, 29 minutes, 3-3 from the field, 3-5 FT.

Who cares anyway? Are you expecting NBA teams to draft based on one matchup in December?

These are two different players anyhow. Leonard is 20 years old, has three inches on Nicholson and is more of a traditional post-up big man.

NBA Draft 2012 Prospect Profile: Andrew Nicholson

by Evan Dunlap on Jun 13, 2012 8:00 AM EDT in NBA Draft 2012

Orlando Pinstriped Post turns its attention to the 2012 NBA Draft with a look at mid-tier draft prospects who might be available when the Orlando Magic select 19th overall. Previously in the series: Meyers Leonard, Terrence Jones, Arnett Moultrie, Moe Harkless, Doron Lamb, Tony Wroten, and Jeffery Taylor.

To cap off his senior season with St. Bonaventure, big-man prospect Andrew Nicholson led the Bonnies to their first NCAA Tournament appearance in over a decade. He scored in double-figures 19 times in the team's final 20 games, with four outings of 30-plus points during that span.

With a 6-foot-10, 234-pound frame, as measured at the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago, Nicholson has the size of a prototypical NBA power forward, and could even shift to center if needed. As Derek Bodner of DraftExpress writes, Nicholson "differentiates himself" from other big-man prospects in the 2012 Draft with his play on the perimeter. "While not an exceptional athlete at the NBA level," says Bodner, "Nicholson is a fluid and mobile big man with a long first step and an intriguing skill-level that gives him the ability to make very impressive plays at times." Nicholson is able to face up and take opposing bigs off the dribble, finishing at the rim with length, Bodner says.

Nicholson's performance down the stretch of the 2012 season more than made up for his rough start to the campaign, which sluggishness hampered his Draft stock and raised questions about his so-called "motor" at the NBA level.

Why he fits for Orlando:
With the Orlando futures of Dwight Howard, Ryan Anderson, and Earl Clark uncertain, the Magic may find themselves needing Nicholson's services sooner rather than later. And at 22, he'll probably be able to contribute at the NBA level almost immediately. Further, Nicholson's facility with his dribble-drive game is a skill the Magic sorely lack at power forward, with Anderson, Clark, and Glen Davis needing improvement in that area.

Why he's not a fit for Orlando:
Given the Bonnies' lack of talent and placement in a weaker NCAA conference, it's tough to gauge what Nicholson's true ability is, which uncertainty makes him a bit of a risk, even with the 19th pick in the Draft. Will his skills translate to the NBA? And how much room for improvement does he have, given the fact that he'll turn 23 just over a month into the season? Another fact for Orlando to consider is that the wings and point-guard positions may be more pressing, from a roster standpoint.

Taking issue with the Orlando Pinstriped Post's comments regarding:

"lack of Bonnies talent" . . . . "weaker division"

My guess is that the author of this article from the "Pinstriped Post" has never watched a Bonaventure game, including the A-10 Championship game against X and the Florida State NCAA game.

If I was coach Schmidt, I'd print/cut out ridiculous articles like this and post them in the Bonnies' locker room to fire-up the team for next year.

I can't wait to see the Bonnies prove all the naysayers and ignorant NCAA basketball "experts" wrong next year.

I sent a tweet to that guy telling him we have other talent than AN and A10 is good, also maybe his long hair was in his eyes.

He responded accusing me of sending him some nasty email.. guess he thinks there is only one Bona fan
