Also an offer from Ohio. Plays AAU with Nigel Hayes. Jaaron is an All Ohio Red PG: With all the highly ranked kids on AOR’s team the catalyst might be Simmons. A steady guard that can shoot, pass, attack the rim, and who really defended well today; Simmons is the glue for his Red team as he rarely makes mistakes, while still having big play capabilities. With a big month in July in front of the college coaches Simmons could be one of the Midwest’s breakout prospects.

Dayton received a verbal two days ago from a 6-0 PG from Morgan Park HS in Chicago. Doubt they'd add another unless it's a local favor.

Thanks THOMAS, I saw that too but forgot, I got nervous when I saw where JAARON was from, right in Dayton's backyard.

BTW, USF has turned down accepting 6-11 Waverly Austin and Waverly wants to be in school this Fall, wonder is the staff has any connections to Austin?

Jaaron needs just 40 points to reach the 1,000 pont mark at Archbishop Alter HS. Last season he was the #1 scorer in the Greater Catholic League averaging 19.9 ppg on .454 shooting. He went 78% from the stripe & 33% beyond the arc. He is positioned to have an incredible senior year. Here's to Jaaron having a great visit to Bona Nation.

fjs64…Thanks for that informative thread on Jaaron.
His junior year numbers are impressive: 20ppg, on 46% shooting, 34% treys, 78% FTs, with 3.5 assists a game. His scoring was very consistent with a high of 31 pts against a weak Pinecrest, GA team & ended the season with 21pts (7-14 FGs, 1-2 treys) & 4 assists against a strong Dunbar squad. Too bad he arrived later than planned yesterday. Hope he has a wonderful visit in the Enchanted Mts.

Jaaron dropped a career-high 38 in tonight's opening season win. Which, as wgt mentions above, leaves him 2 points shy of 1,000.

Doesn't look like there is any more interest on either JAARON or BONA'S part, Alex Kline reports SIMMONS' top 3 schools are now Hofstra, Western Michigan, & Wichita ST.

We never offered Jaaron, Schmidt felt that he was not good enough. Looking at his final 3 I would have to agree we made the right choice on moving on...better guards out there
