AN had his best game of the FIBA America's Olympic Qualifying Tournament tonight. AN had a Double/Double(15pts, 10Rbs) and tied for the team lead in assists(6). I watched the game, he played when the whole second quarter and most of the third. He did not play the whole 4th Quarter. Below is the box score. www.fibaamericas.com/en/box.asp?g=X&n=7&r=11848&t=EZSJSRBIAM

Another very god game for AN. He shot 50% from the floor and scored 15pts, 2nd on the team.. He also played the most minutes of any game thus far. Canada has automatically qualified for the Semi-finals. if they win that game, they go to the Olympics. www.fibaamericas.com/en/box.asp?g=X&n=9&r=11848&t=EZSJSRBIAM

Nice video on Drew's training, his "44 Hoops Camp" and growing up in Canada. His middle name is Fabian after his dad who comments at the end of the video. www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXO6zHzR-iYBTW, the guys that work his camp played HS ball with him.

Magic: Reserve big man Andrew Nicholson made the most of his 21 minutes, scoring 23 points and grabbing eight rebounds. First preseason game vs. Hornets. I also saw this #1 While it’s extremely early to make any decisive judgments, Andrew Nicholson looks substantially improved. Not only was he smooth with his footwork and soft touch around the basket, Nicholson found the range from downtown and was relentless on the glass. He posted 23 points, made two of his 3-point attempts and grabbed eight rebounds.

AN is well-known for saying as little as possible to reporters, so it's interesting to see his most recent comment after that 23-point preseason game and the struggles he's had the past two seasons: "I wasn't being used right," Nicholson said. "I'm getting used better now." A simple statement, and true, but pretty blunt for our soft-spoken, mild-mannered friend. Some other interesting comments in the same article from Skiles, his new coach. www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/orlando-magic/os-orlando-magic-news-1005-20151004-story.html

This is indeed a big year for Andrew, I hope the coaching changes allows him to flourish and be the player we all know he is.

Just took a look at the Orlando box score for opening night. Didn't even look like they dressed AN. This can't be a good sign. Doesn't anyone in the organization know how to recognize talent?
