By the way, your constant put downs of Sister Margaret is really getting pretty old. You may disagree with some of her decisions, but there is no doubt that she has Bonas' best interests at heart and works her tail off to help Bonas succeed. Your put downs of her make you sound like an ignorant bully.

If you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen. She is President of this university, and is accountable to our community for her decisions, good and bad. It is past due that a frank discussion of her leadership abilities and limitations be undertaken, no one is beyond reproach. No one is being disrespectful in any manner, but a President needs to reflect on our entire community, just not a narrow portion of that extended community. Let the great debate continue.

Did anyone say she should not be accountable or open to criticism? It's your constant immature put downs that I was referring to.
As for debating this, it is probably the wrong forum. But keep in mind that ultimately it was NOT Sister Margaret's decision to build the new school of business building, it was the Board of Trustee's decision. This project was 100% funded by donations. I believe it was a fantastic decision. If you don't, that's fine. No decision will be agreed to by everybody. If you try to please every contingency nothing would get done. However, if you don't like it the Board should take the heat, not Sister Margaret.
I'm sure you'll need the last word, so go ahead. I'm done debating this as it's water under the bridge since the building will open in the next month or so. I will note however that I have seen exactly ZERO support for your position. None. So, I have my doubts whether there is really a contingency that opposed this building other than you. (perhaps you could create multiple screen names for yourself like you did before to support your views).

She is not a figurehead, she is the CEO of this university and is responsible for the decisions made by the university. She is the driver, not the passenger, you of all people know that is a fact. I realize that not everyone has that type of time to reach out to various segments of our community, that is OK, everyone has his or her own personal responsibilities as alums and time limitations too. But the President by contrast is on the payroll, is on campus everyday and should have and is responsible for reaching out to these groups and garnering feedback from the various groups, that was not done, there was no listening tour only a speaking tour. No efforts were made to reach out the alum base, faculty, FOSBU's to properly vet this project in its preliminary stages, in fact no meetings with the interested parties were held until just prior to groundbreaking last spring. Strange timing one might say for an "open" feedback process. This demonstrates a leadership flaw. The mini bulldozer approach is counterproductive. Again the proof is in the enrollment figures - let us see how the $15 million gamble works - 600 frosh in Sept. '14 - that's the marker, place your bets.

By the way she is not shrinking violet, she has a reputation on campus and off for her aggressive actions and opinions. Speak with recent undergraduates for a better perspective on her unique personality. She needs no defense on these grounds, she is perfectly capable of defending her decisions. So stop the victimization stuff, no one is buying it.

Did the university give back all the money the Rigas family donated?

Were we asked to give it back?

When I was an undergrad, I took a couple Political Science classes taught by Prof Moore. I hope I got that spelling (and even the name) right. I believe he also coached the hockey squad for some time. He used to get great amusement from an anecdote that he told several times during my time in his classes. It was about a woman from New York City that was interviewed on CBS News immediately after Richard Nixon was elected president. Her reaction to Nixon's victory was "I can't believe he won. I don't know anyone that voted for him!"
