We can't shoot, yet we shot 50 percent from the field......and 40 percent from 3 point line. What? Coach did not get out coached. Why no posts after a win......only a loss? aren't u the same guy that said we can beat Wisconsin? Yup, but honestly, they would probably beat us by 3.....

If someone told me we shot better than the best shooting team in the A10 from the floor & treys, I would say we won the game.
I expected us to outrebound the Flyers & if not we were in trouble. Well, rebounding (especially on our defensive basket) was a major factor in the loss. Without any of their guys dominating the glass they grab 11 more carooms that us. And the dagger was 9 more OFFENSIVE boards. Incredible they had 20 offensive boards to 19 defensive boards. An obscene ratio.
As a result, they took 12 more shoots from the field over the course of the game. Was it a result of balls landing in their laps off of crazy bounces? They had 9 offensive Team Rebounds to our ONE.
ddsmugs makes the point of Fresher Legs for Dayton. Clearly that benefited them in the final four mins. They played TEN guys significant mins but NO ONE more than 28 mins. We played only 7 with three of our starters playing 31 plus mins. UNLESS you are a superior athlete, to others on the court, that playing time differential makes a difference LATE in games. Each of our last three conference losses were by 2 points & all down the final stretch. Now our rebounding was poor throughout the game but was particularly bad in the final mins when they got so many easy putbacks that was the difference. We certainly don’t have a deep bench like Dayton & others. Denzel played 4 mins in the first half & had a real nice block. As the season wears on, more time for he & Chris will help the fatigue factor. Gas will be needed in the tank for The Barclay Center.

nj seems to think it makes a huge difference WHEN you make the shots...I was under the impression that a basket in the first minute counted 2 points, and a basket in the last minute also counted 2 points...assuming theyare not threes guys...can somebody let me know if that rule was changed lately?

I think there is a big difference between making a shot in the first two minutes as opposed to the last two minutes...especially in a close game. It is called being clutch. This team doesn't have it. If we did have a clutch player we wouldn't have lost all these close games.

If we make a lot of first half free throws, we win a lot of these close games too...jus sayin'

Yeah unfortunately we don't make many of them either...at least not enough for a W.

Yes it totally matters........ are u serious? ?? points are points, but when the pressure is on the better players tend to come through... the others well we know what happens.

When we win the A-10 tourney in a month, we will look back at all these close losses and think to ourselves how important these games were to a fire being lit under their collective butts. As frustrating as these losses have been, I hope this team can maintain mental toughness and play with a chip on their shoulder and go into Brooklyn like a bunch of crazed dogs. The good news is they have been in every conference game so far. Very possible we play this Dayton team in our first tourney game. I hope they remember last year's Fordham game when they go into Rose Hill this week.

Bonarific...that would be so sweet. Hey...maybe someone like Wright will get hot and we can start hitting some outside shots.
