Assuming we put Jalen Adams in this years class because he has 4 years of eligibility, is this the best "on paper" recruiting class in over 30 years. Admittingly, I may just be overly hopeful, but wow!
2 PGs that are high school champions 1 SG from a team that went to the Junior College Finals and already started at the D-1 level 1 PF/C- who is already a D-1 defensive ready shot blocker with a 40in vert 1 SG-sitting on bench all season with mad hops and athletic skills 1 SF-glue guy, defensive stopper and a classic Bona 'diamond in the rough"
I can't remenber all the recruiting classes but only three possible(on paper) come close that I can recall:
(I need help with the years)
Alvin Lott/Rocky LLewyllen/Sam Graham/Mark Erb
David Vanterpool--who else(?)
Tim Winn/ Caswell Cyrus/David Capers(?)
Just wondering about other opinions

This class has it all - in volume, talent level and character - a great class and the staff should be very proud of their efforts on this !!!

Faffy, Thanks.
The Alvin Lott and the David Vanterpool classes were pretty good, on paper and on the court!
Anybody else come in with the Tim Winn class?

Faffy, it was Winn and Cyrus. Technically Capers too, but he came in the year before and got hurt. I do believe Charles Perry would have been in this class, no positive though. PVP was a year behind.

Whichever is the best class, i don't think that we will be hearing the annual "you cant recruit to Olean" in Street and Smiths. Screw that guy in Albany who had such kind words about our coaching job. Holy Schmidt. I didn't think i would say this after the long winter, but i cant wait til basketball season. I love me some bonnies.

And there may be one more before we lace them up in November...
One could argue Tom Stith and anybody or Bob lanier and anybody etccc.... but even the Tim Winn/Caswell Cyrus class or nobody mentioned Glenn Hagan/Greg Sanders/Jim Baron..... still would have a tough time competing with this volume of 6 newcomers... Now lets hope this group can achieve what those others did
Our program and our conference are on the rise bigtime - would love to see our A10 commissioner increase our SNY tv package by 25%...last year I think we had about 48 games - near 4 games/team... lets see that expand towards 72 games
And lets end any games on CBS Sports network,,,its a virtual black hole and almost "fools gold" to think we are getting games when in reality few homes get this package..(New Big east has similar issue with its fox sports pack)... Conversely = NBC SportsNet is great...

MD Bonnies lol guilty as charged - i'm getting old ;; )) what I was really hoping to see arise from this thread were some of the prized (potentially) recruiting classes in the 60s that for various reasons didnt come to pass....we are just talking incoming recruiting classes on paper...not their final results Older followers of the program would sometimes bring these up and I never tired of hearing the possible "what ifs" - in many ways its a little bit of magic/folklore college hoops always has.... A more modern era example is the "what if" of 6'10 Charles Perry and the 6'4 Aregentine who turned pro both added to those great 1999/2000/2001 era teams....
