We already have 14 'home' games and looks like the final game will be a visit into the RC by a southern team from the SWAC giving us 15 home games which seems 1 too many. Moving one of the games (Niagara) up to Buffalo when the students are away leaves the RC with its normal 14 home games and provides the WNY alums a thanksgiving game in downtown Buffalo - Watson will have created a 'win/win' with this !! The Cleve state series would start on the road. This scheduling may be as good as we have had in years with following hilites: - a BCS game at Pitt and played on a Saturday - top opponent/top location/top day of week...and top payday; ) - Bonas finally after a decade returns to the Buffalo arena on a holiday weekend - RC fans get an extra A10 home game on their 14 home game slate - 4 NCAA teams come into the RC Dayton/UMass/VCU/St Joes - almost all the games are in our geographical footprint playing games at Pitt at Cleveland at Buffalo and A10 tourney in NYC - many road games a bus ride away - Raleigh NC area alums finally get a game at Davidson - Philly alums get 2 games - Pittsburgh alums get 2 games - New England alums get 2 games - NYC/NJ alums get short changed with no Fordham or Iona game but they do get the A10 tourney and SNY TV package

Davidson is in Charlotte, not Raleigh.

I can imagine that will play a team in the Baltimore area because I remember Alston had tweeted that the staff was trying to get a game near his home city

jh: I am in error. SBU did play at NU last year (SBU 74. NU 72) so it looks like NFC is a Bona's home game. NU should reciprocate the following year.

Eagle but all I hear is there is some shuffling of schedules - ex canisius has too many home games for 2014 etc But basically you are on....one thing for sure I hear there is NO appetite for 15 games in the RC - likely half those when students away...lets see how it plays out.... Jackson St on the radar

jh, I have heard there are some issues with the DH as well. Not with SBU-NU but with either CC or UB for the second game in the DH.
IMO it is important to have a DH to maximize the opportunity and draw fans for both games.

Having a robust doubleheader in Buffalo would be ideal. SBU/NU and CC/UB would be a great draw. If that game draws 8,000 in attendance (if the weather co-operates), that would be a very positive start to this revived program. It also gives the team the opportunity to play in a big time arena close to home (not the Syracuse Dome). Additionally I hope Cornell stays on the schedule - great school, a rebuilding program close to home, and great tradition.

Not only in attendance, but in sponsorship. The Rochester crowd does a nice job. Buffalo not so much in the past. I still can't believe we are letting Niagara go five years without playing in the RC, but they are doing us a "favor" by coming to the First Niagara Center. I do believe that if we had 15 home games that all alumni would be eligible to purchase tickets for those games. As a Rochester area alum I do know that I have been able to purchase season tickets for the last 30 years.

FirstDev - I agree with your Cornell thoughts - SBU needs to keep local schools on the schedule - most schools go through cycles especially after head coaches move on to 'greener' pastures with higher expectations...

I was under the impression that it was Cornell that didn't want the game since they wanted to schedule more games they had a shot at while they rebuild.

It's too bad the Big Red will not be on the Bona BB schedule this season. Wil Bathurst will start his Div. 1 experience with the Big Red this coming Fall. Once Wil finishes his exams at Olean he will report to Ithaca, only to return for graduation. Then back to the campus.
