As per Verbal Commits, the Bonnies offer Alen Telis from Kaskaskia Junior College. Apparently transferred from Stetson. Several teams are in the hunt.

Scored 23 points, recorded 14 rebounds, and blocked four shots in a game against rival Naperville Central. Nominated for McDonald’s All-America. Named an Illinois State Scholar, earned Academic All-Conference honors twice, and was on the Blue Honor Roll all four years at Wheaton. Also played volleyball while at Wheaton. Hard to understand why a player would have left a D1 program for a junior college and is now being offered by an Atlantic 10 school. Not something you see happen to often.

Andrew missed his senior year at Wheaton North HS due to injury. Rivals had him as a 3 star as he came out of HS with offers from, Stetson, Central Michigan & UC Irvine. Now has offers from North Illi, Washington St, Az State & Liberty. Listed as 7'/245. Good student.
He should have 3 years eligibility after Kaskaskia JUCO. He was red shirted at Stetson in the 2013-14 season.

I know you cannot teach 7 foot, but I hope he does not end up a Barry Atkinson case. Schmidt apparently is great at developing centers, maybe this would be a good project. At least academically he appears to be a competitive student which is also of importance.

Andrew Zelis was a red shirt freshman last year for the Hatters 2013-2014. He will play one year at Kaskaskia CC and will have three years of eligibility. Verbal Commits indicates offers from a wide range (levels) of D1 schools, including Washington St and Arizona St.

Let's take the pessimistic view based on the assumption that he is not (currently) A10 quality.
- So he is a practice and depth player that has a large presence and is able to be a large body inside. When the starting big men are in trouble he can be inserted into the game and cause some issues for a few minutes due to his size. Even if he only sees a few minutes, he can be used to attempt to draw fouls if other teams are dependent on a certain player inside. Also, he has likely matured as a student-athlete and understands what it takes to be a college athlete which will allow him to be an asset as an older addition to the program.
But he is SEVEN FEET tall and is likely just now coming into his body and learning how to use it to his advantage. Most kids don't stop growing and start to fill out until they are a few years into college.
Though he did redshirt for a sub .500 Stetson team, he did spend a season working out at the D1 level. You can think of the year at Stetson as a prep-year for a team filled with lower level D1 talent. Then he went to a Community College, that sent four players to D1 programs last year, to further develop and explore his options to play at other schools. I have enough confidence in the staff's ability to identify talent and build a roster that if they feel he is worth making an offer that they are confident he will be a contributing member of the program.
