If him and yousou can stay on the floor and avoid early foul trouble we will win games that we aren't supposed too. Id love to see some more of that 1-3-1 this year. Didn't Dion play the top of it? With Jalen, Denzel, Andell we have some athletic wings who can be all over those passes that may have to be floated over the long arms of Dion's. Can't wait!

I think they are probably off a touch with our top 7 scorers. I doubt Tyson will average 7+ and I think Jalen Adams will be in our top 7. As usual the big time sports people never want to take a chance with our bonnies so they regurgitate the same middle of the road write-ups we always get. Ty for posting though, I enjoyed the read.

Hey, not too long ago, it was bottom of the pack write ups. I'll take middle of the road - baby steps.

As usual the big time sports people never want to take a chance with our bonnies so they regurgitate the same middle of the road write-ups we always get. Ty for posting though, I enjoyed the read. SI didn't use human projections, they used Economists Dan Hanner's statistical projection model. I enjoyed it because it wasn't a bunch of talking heads who usually know nothing about the A10. The reason Dion Wright was picked as a breakout player was because he was extremely efficient on offense last year when he did play. The computer figures he will extend his efficiency with more playing time. Tyson is probably getting those numbers because he has the highest recruiting stars out of all the incoming players and the Bonnies will need some big men off the bench to eat up some minutes. Jalen isn't on there because he is virtually unknown to everyone but us. If you try to search for him in the recruiting rankings for last year, it is really hard to find him. I found him on Yahoo, but he has no stars associated with him. I think the SI prediction is spot on from the information that is out there about the Bonnies. I don't believe Wright will be our leading scorer, but I don't blame SI for this prediction because of his offensive efficiency last year. I also believe Denzel and Jalen will be in our Top 7 scorers. 9-9 I feel is about right in the A10. I am guessing 9-9 or 10-8 myself. This is actually one of the highest predictions for us this year. Most places have us 10th or 11th.

9 or 10 wins feels about right. (Like most of the previews, there's no mention of Jalen. The basketball world is going to be shocked when he gets into his groove and shows what he's capable of.)
Not polite to enjoy the suffering of others, but geez ... Fordham. SI's projection (and I know, it's all guesswork at this point) has Fordham doubling their win total from last season, and still finishing last.

Back to Dion, the thing I really like about watching him is that for once, we have someone other than AN who has a real touch around the hoop. Doesn't it seem that we've had a long series of forwards who would work their butt off underneath to get a bound, but then when they put the ball back up, had a way of having the ball bounce around the rim, hitting all 4 quadrants of the circle, but then fall out. But Dion, even when getting jostled (fouled - though rarely called) in a crowd, has displayed the knack for getting the ball to fall in - what a pleasant change that is.

Echoing what gdub wrote, the SI article has value because they're using a statistical model, so it is less reliant on the bias of pundits. Also as previously noted is the fact that Jalen Adams is a wild card this year, and he will shock and amaze. I don't understand why he's been ignored up until now: he was All-State in Michigan and would have been far more actively recruited by the high major programs had it not been for academic issues. I believe he will score in double digits, pull down many rebounds, and consistently play above the hoop with many inspiring dunks and blocked shots. I know I'm totally sold out for this team but I believe they'll win 9 games in the OOC, 11 in conference and at least two more in the A10 tourney. Long-suffering Bonnies, this is going to be a year we'll long remember.
