More issues from a program led by a guy who thought that his star player shouldn't be suspended from the college for hitting a female student squarely in the face...shocking.

Syracuse in trouble? I can't see it. Maybe if there were problems in the past, then maybe I could believe it. But not that squeaky clean program. For decades it's been a model for good behavior and holding every last rule in high regard.

I have no mercy for a program that can have the pick of who they want yet Boeheim has always gravitated to the bad apples

Bonaventure fans should not talk about other programs being dirty.

Bonaventure fans should not talk about other programs being dirty. imho, i think we (we meaning alums, friends of bonas, et al) would be very foolish to forget the scandal that rocked our campus and/or dismiss the transgressions that occured as not being as serious as north carolina's, syracuse's or any other school...i think we would be very wise to learn from the mistakes of the past so that the circumstances that led to the scandal are never repeated...and when we do condemn, we remember 3 basic conditions: 1) we condemn the action(s) and 2) at the same time, make constructive suggestion(s) that would prevent such action(s) taking place again (in addition to punishing the guilty party(ies), and 3) leave the condemning of the individual(s) to "The Boss" (and i don't mean bruce springsteen)...

Nobody is inferring that we should forget the "scandal that rocked our campus" when criticizing a program like Syracuse's that continues to make the same mistakes over and over and over again. Syracuse's basketball program seems willing to take the penalties, obviously, to continue doing what they do to put themselves in a position to attempt to win another national championship. Have an assistant coach on your bench who shows tendencies to take advantage of younger men? Look the other way....Allow student athletes to get inappropriate help to pass their classes? Look the other way....Anything else? Look: St. Bonaventure, like many, maybe ALL Division 1 universities, have improprieties going on in their sports programs. BUT, unlike St. Bonaventure and many other Division 1 universities, Syracuse has been constantly under the microscope for infractions AND it's been during the tenure of ONE coach and we all know who that is.... St. Bonaventure versus Syracuse for past and potential scandals? Not a contest.....

Casting stones and all that -- I get it. But let's also not pretend that one infraction is the same thing as systematic fraud.
If I get a speeding ticket, that makes me a rule-breaker. If I continue, year after year, decade after decade, to drive like a lunatic, ignoring whatever rules I find inconvenient, then that makes me a menace and a criminal.

i, for one, don't care how many scandals syracuse university has had over the years...i worry about one school and only one school...bonas...to the best of my knowledge bonas has had 3 infractions (one in the late '60s,'93 and the welding scandal) in the 90+ yrs we've been playing hoops...and that's three too many...my point was to say we would be wise to implement policies/procedures to ensure that it doesn't happen again...and it seems like that has happened as we haven't had any problems the last 10+ yrs as coaches solomon and schmidt have run clean programs...finally, if the day ever comes when bonas starts comparing itself with schools that are always mired in scandal/controversy...well, i hope i'll be long gone by then...
