The Clips have worn orange and black recently. I know the NCAA exercises extreme control over the brands and appearance of uniforms, and there was recently a kerfuffle regarding Vandy's football unis. Ive seen countless wacky gimic uniforms in football and basketball, but I've never heard of anything like this.

There is an explicit rule in the rulebook regarding football uniforms that says that any school that isn't a SR military school can't have slogans on their uniforms. They are limited to the team name and the the individual's name, if they decide to add it. The Bonnies have to have the team name on the uniform and can elect to have a special patch for the game but there is no issue with any changing of the colors or uniforms.
I do wonder what recruits will think of the old style. (Mobile)

Throwback or retro uniforms are all about the $$$! The sales of the variations bring huge bucks to the franchises/clubs and the schools (Oregon "rings the register" every other week it seems with their fball uniforms, even though they are not "throwbacks", and of course, I'm OK with that.) Almost always in the case of "throwbacks", the uniforms worn are replica's of those that the team wore at some time during their history, which again adds to their value for the swag sales. I thought I read somewhere that, specifically, the game worn uniforms are to be auctioned off by the participating schools, with the proceeds to go to charities - and, of course, I applaud that. I still don't think there is any real value to using the NBA franchise as the hook for these uniforms! It is hard to imagine that the Buffalo franchise history in the town even remotely rivals the historic and much broader story of the legacy and rivalry of the Little Three in Buffalo, not to mention adding UB! I won't even get into the hypocracy of the connection with the Buffalo BRAVES!! I guess the "PC" compus got chucked onto the Niagara River for this one!!

Hey guys - not to be a nudge but we are talking about uniforms and practices are underway. Anyone have any really interesting information on how the team is doing, looking now that we are into preparation? Thanks - getting jazzed for a good season.

Already has the attention of ESPN: See which schools have altered their uniforms & court designs. #UniWatch ยป t.co/idqsL2ivcw t.co/C8mZML2vXPThey spend the first paragraph or so talking about the Big 4. Pretty cool. Also some interesting new courts and jerseys. Xavier's new floor has the Cincy skyline on it.

Xavier's new floor has the Cincy skyline on it. That seems to be the new silly little trend. Maybe we can put the Olean skyline on the RC court : )

UB would likely put the NYC skyline on their court... To you know, avoid confusion, cause they are THE STATE UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORK (at buffalo) according to their insignia... with "UB" on their helmets... and "Buffalo" in the box score.

Tasty, think bigger! UB put a silhouette of the entire state on the court. After all, they are the SUNY flagship. In all seriousness, I wish UB could distinguish itself as the athletic flagship. I guess it starts with the logo.
