Harry Moore was one of the better players ever to put on the brown and white. He put up great numbers on bad teams. He was not surrounded by much. Double zero was a bright spot in the early years under Coach Chapman.....he was a highlight film...battled and often outplayed the better players in the A10. I know he got himself in some trouble years after he graduated......does this guy ever get his number retired?

The one game I was anticipating so much was a Harry Moore led team playing against Seton Hall in the Medowlands. My buddy is a big Seton Hall guy and I was talking Moore up for weeks. Sadly Mooore's mother passed away day before game and Harry did not play in game.

I remember his highlights for a few games on ESPN. He had great scoring and rebound numbers........again, he got in trouble with the law years later but this guy could play

Ha no way he pled guilty to not one, not two but three counts of armed robbery. Lets not sugar coat it by saying he got into some trouble with the law. It is what it is. He should not have has number retired.

Wasn't his mother killed on a trip back to Philadelphia from Olean?

C'mon man how would you feel if your kid was held up at gunpoint by a former Villanova star and they honored him?

There is only one number which should be retired next.....#4! Statisically, both offensive and defensive, the best guard ever to play at Bona's.

Ok so the kids he stole the money from are less traumatized bc they knew that right. Unbelievable logic here. Wake up he is a convicted violent felon! He does not deserve and should not be honored by having his number retired.

Has Harry made an attempt to reconnect with Bonas? Sorry, while I believe in forgiveness, it starts with him getting himself straight and making the effort to ask for forgiveness. IMO only after that do we think of opening up the HOF to someone with his past. There is more to that honor I think then just what you did on the court. I don't think you need to be a pillar of the community, but a felony conviction is a disqualifier in the absence of a major effort to clean up your life afterwards. I understand if others think the hoops HOF consideration should be limited to on-the-court things only, but I think if the school's name is attached to it, off-the-court misfeasance can disqualify someone whose on-the-court work on its own would otherwise put him or her in.
