I thought this was a nice hard fought win that will serve us well later on. People on this board have to stop with the idea that we are just suppose to lace then up and blow out Jackson St as if they are a D-II team. From what I saw, they are a decent team that plays hard and plays tough defense. They had some good players. They played South Florida tough on the road and South Florida almost beat NC State at NC State the other day. They played UAB tough and UAB beat South Florida and plays #2 Wisconsin tomorrow. South Florida and UAB are good teams and Jackson St was competitive with both on the road. The fact that they were competitive with us tonight should not surprise anyone. I would rather have tough, grind it out victories like we've had against Canisius and Jackson ST than a blowout win against teams like Dartmouth and Mansfield tht prove nothing. Games like tonight serve as great experience for our young backcourt and will serve us well in A-10 games later on. Upcoming games vs Niagara and UB will probably be similar to the last two. Games like these may result in us stealing a win or two late vs a good A-10 team later on. To me, winning ugly in games that are up for grabs inside 5 minutes is a good thing, not a bad thing. It teaches our team how to win and close games out.

Jay Adams really is going to be a good player. He shoots well from the perimeter and MAKES free throws. A great late get!

Alston was ruled out tonight with a sprained ankle that he hurt vs Canisius.

Jay Adams gets better every game. When he gets his feet set. He is a very good shooter. Nice rotation and great release. He is a quick learner.

Jackson State was not a bad team. Good overall size and quick. They were a bit undisciplined, but they are a young team and started 5 sophomores. We are a work in progress, but Schmidty will get them together. I agree Denzel Gregg will help. Our defensive rebounding is adequate, but our offensive rebounding needs help and last year Denzel brought energy to the offensive glass.

The game has been archived.....there is a Part 1 and Part 2, so the outage we all had in viewing the live stream will be reflected in the archived games so we will not be able to have that video.
Part 1 to 7:05 in the 1st half Part 2 from 2:13 in 1st half
If you view Part 1 it will automatically go into Part 2

I'm very impressed with jay Adams D. That 5 second call was a big play. He has great confidence for a true freshmen and has a bright future at Bonaventure. Just remember though he is still a freshmen and I expect some ups and downs.
Ndoye needs to get it going and we need to get him the ball in better positions bc he is scary when he catches it outside of 15 feet from the basket. A turnover or a offensive foul waiting to happen.
Gregg will help us on both ends. Need to continue to and smooth out our half court sets counting down on the turnovers. Any word on Gathers?

I'm not too worried about the first few games, but to say Jackson St. is a good team is laughable. They might not be awful, but they're not good. They got their doors blown off by an OK NC State team. Jackson State is picked to finish near the bottom in a bad basketball conference (SWAC).
Like I said earlier, not terribly worried about the start, but I am also not terribly thrilled. Having Gathers and Gregg back will do us wonders.
Schmidt teams seem to hit their stride late in the season.

Youssou is currently my biggest concern as of now he should have dominated tonight they didn't have one solid big. A few times our guards had great looks to get him the ball in the post and they swung it way too early. Learning to be patient will be essential for this team to have success.

I don't get how poorly Youssou is playing after all the offseason reports of him dominating at Mark Erb's Bigman Academy. Hopefully turns it on soon.

He's a better scorer than I thought he would be - far better. But, I'm a bit disappointed in his PG skills. I know he's young, but to me, it looks like he's got a long way to go before I consider him a real good point guard.

Regarding YN, it seems he is roaming and chasing instead of being anchored and positioned within the paint. Prior to the feed being disrupted, I watched him out nearly to the three point line on defense, and if he does that, we know he is prone to get a number of PF by reaching.
