Might number1bonafan be Ann Millinghaus (mom of Derrick & Shadell) who used to post here several years ago? Derrick had signed with Bona in 2010 but reneged on his commitment.
In the event it is Ann, here is an update on Derrick’s hoops journey & brother Shadell.
A "Where are They Now" piece. Derrick played at Schenectady HS but was dismissed from the team. Shadell joined him in moving to play at Troy HS. There Derrick aged out & could not play his “senior year” due to being overage. So he went to “Belive” (not a typo)in NC to play & graduate HS.
Derrick then went to Ole Miss & played there 2012 – 2014 (5.3 ppg frosh year & 6.6ppg soph year). Left the team last spring & went to SE Louisiana where he was attending school awaiting eligibility to play in fall 2015.
Brother Shadell (I saw both play at the Rumble in the Bronx & thought he was better) was playing at Southern Miss & left the team a few weeks ago. Last week a local TV sports show reported that Shadell would join brother Derrick in fall 2015. However the coach At SE Louisiana, immediately denied that report. Then on Jan 16 Shadell is taken back at Southern Miss.
On Jan 15 Derrick obtained his release from SE Louisiana. As far as I know, as of today, Derrick has no place to play & Shadell is PROBABLY back at Southern Miss. Quite a journey. Certainly not the “Good Journey.” I welcome Ann or anyone to correct any error in their movements as Derrick is searching for a school. He turns 24 in June & I believe he has 2 years of eligibility.

Should probably mention the suspension at Ole Miss, too. I'm sure teams will be lining up to be the next stop on his tour (heh), but think I'd pass on taking "first shot."
Lord, I was born a ramblin' man, Tryin' to make a livin' and doin' the best I can. And when it's time for leavin', I hope you'll understand, That I was born a ramblin' man.

It's gotta be Lew Alcindor...no, wait, he's not a point guard. Olden Polynice ? no...not a point guard. Can't be Derrick Millinghaus or Eli Carter ...There must be an NCAA limit on number of transfers in a decade. Eli Carter is playing well as a reserve for the gators... D. Millinghaus - Southeastern Louisiana

It really is sad that this has happened. A chance at a free college education is being frittered away. He is not going to the NBA and with no college education his prospects look dim. If it is his mother posting on this message board this is probably not the way to help your kid. Good luck to him in the future wherever he ends up.

Not only are they Division-I but they are one of those schools with great facilities that can't seem to attract top teams, recruits, fans, or wins. www.ttusports.com/inside_athletics/facilities
