I don't have anything profound to say. I just wanted to create a game thread. For hard hitting analysis try this nugget if Youssou and Marcus play well we have an excellent chance to win.

I guess one thing we have going for us is that Lasalle's front court is pretty good. YN usually ups his game against better competition.

The Bonnies are now tied with Richmond for 6th place in the A10. Pomeroy projects a three point advantage over LaSalle, but that is due to the home court advantage. The Explorers actually have a higher Kenpom rating: 111 vs. 121 for SBU. With losses to teams like Siena and UMES, the RC hasn't always been an impregnable fortress. Let's hope we have a loud, supportive crowd Saturday and the Bonnies come loaded for bear.

FULL Preview link below with a few youtube clips (one is Ric Flair sending a motivational message to the team) and a nugget on Mark Schmidts' friendship with La Salles' Dr. G. This should be a good/close game between two evenly matched teams. La Salle's bigs are obviously very solid, their shooting struggles have been well documented but we know how the RC tends to adjust those things....Let's hope the boys pin down this win because a loss means two in a row with Davidson/VCU next up. thebonablog.com/2015/01/29/recon-la-salle-explorers-3-4/www.thebonablog.com

So it looks like the Bona game will not be on live in the Rochester area. Is that correct?

Well, I'm embarrassed to say that tomorrow will be my first game at the Reilly Center since a 1997 loss to Xavier. That year coincides with when I moved from Rochester to NYC. I've seen the Bonnies just about every time they have been in the NYC Metro area since then (Fordham, Rutgers, Delaware at Rutgers, Marist, St. John's) and I sometimes get up to Siena. Caught the win at UConn in the early 2000's, as well. I was out of town on business for last year's A-10 tourney run in Brooklyn though. But, I am really looking forward to getting back to the Burton for the pre-game, and cheering on the Bonnies on a Saturday night at the RC. Go Bona's!
I think res and I should be at the Burton before 4:00, although res may want to get started before I arrive and get there earlier.

On Tuesday La Salle came from 15 down to beat St Joes 53-48 (Our URI losing score). Wright & Zack will provide problems inside. Last year the duo went for 37 pts & 20 boards. Dion & Youssou must play hard & aggressive while watching the chippie calls. URI provided a stifling perimeter D last Sunday. The Explorers have a very strong D allowing only 58 ppg so we will be challenged to put up points.
Treys are not their strength but that means little playing the Bonnies. Keep an eye on Roberts, their best trey shooter (40%).
