Actually thought they looked better tonight. Killed on the boards and missed a few lay ups. Healy looked like her old self and Nyla was 3-7 from three.

Healy looked like her old self and Nyla was 3-7 from three. we got killed on the boards, which many times resulted in duq shooting fts which they made...yes, the missed layups hurt us also...at times i saw katie, gabby and hannah on the floor at the same time...we might want to go with all 3 of them in there at the same time for more of the game...it might help us on the boards and, if gabby and hannah make those layups/putbacks, increase our point production...

For some reason Hanna Little is in coaches dog house! This team seems to no longer want to play, you just see the lack of effort at times. Point being, when you decide you want to win put Hanna in, start her and take her out when she runs out of gas. Never play Imani Outlaw with Emily Michael at the same time! An force Emily to shoot a three. Every team knows she will not shoot. Did I say play Hanna Little. Coach quit playing with the team, you should have won tonight. In case you have forgot, up 12-0 against VCU take who out and it's 17-14. Again play Hanna 40 min. If you have too. And if you insist on coaching the team to loss, at play the bench. Good luck.

Duquesne was bigger, had better shooters and was much deeper on the front line. The ONLY reason we stayed with them for a while is our "D" and the Dukes coach got our offense going by pressing 3/4 court. As rotten as this team (SBU) shoots, I would have sat back in a zone the entire game. Their press was our best offense.
Hannah Little is not playing well. Don't blame the coach on that. I doubt if coach tells Hannah to dribble into a crowd and shoot or throw an errant pass. She has been doing that TOO MUCH of late. But, Hannah was her old self on the fly and sliced and diced the Dukes press.
This team has too many players that are easy to defend in the half court. Michael doesn't shoot. Outlaw has a very limited range, and Richmond only goes left and has no shot. Healy has to be more selfish, extend her range a bit, and things will open up. She is the most talented, but she needs to shoot more as she did to an extent tonight.

Hannah played 31 mins tonight. Don't see that indicating she is in the dog house. Katie averages the most mins this season at 29mpg.
Emily is a fine defender due to her quickness, IQ & hustle level. But we struggle to score (#12 @ 60 ppg). Emily plays the 4th most mins but rarely shoots & averages just 2.2ppg. Not sure "forcing" her to take treys is helpful since she is only hitting 27% (10-33).
Dukes are 2nd in conference taking care of the boards. They dominated (+15) tonight & that was a major factor in the loss. Especially on the offensive end where they were a plus 7. At times it looked like Workman was playing catch with her self off her misses & put backs.
Down 11 very early with Katie having 2 fouls in first 4 mins really hurt. Dukes outscored us 13 pts from the stripe, the margin of their win.
After 7 straight losses, confidence has taken a heavy hit which Coach Crowley will have to address. Shots are simply not falling & although Robinson is a fine player/shooter her half court off glass TREY at the buzzer of first half seemed to reflect what has been befalling the Lady Bonnies over the past 3 weeks.
WOW, do I really miss Jordan Gathers & his sidekick doing the games!!!

In the last decade, it seems WBB has gone from poor to NIT level, to NCAA level, to NIT level, to poor. I hope this trend can be reversed. There is talent there with both Miss NY and Runnerup Miss NY as frosh. The highlight this year will be the win at Penn State.

Penn St. is 5-16 this year; so not exactly a "highlight" win.

For Crowley's offense to work, 2 things have to happen. All five players have to be able to drive to hoop and they have to make outside shots to open up the lanes to drive to the hoop. Here is the only stat you need to know about the team in conference play this season:
23-104 from 3pt for 22%
Either stop taking 3's or develop a different offense for the players you have!!! The fact is Crowley does not have 1 player he can count on to hit an outside shot.
