Class70 you are right on! The Coach did something to shake things up and the team went out and won the game.
Andell played --- the whole TEAM played a GREAT game. The Dukes were looking for some payback and they played a oh great gem also.
For some posters on this bandwagon it's tuff for them to understand that this guys are just kids, no mater how you slice it. It seems to me that they all why to WIN. Some game are just more difficult than others.
Two thumbs up for our coaching staff. AND to all the Bonaventure students that cheered on the team no matter what the current restrictions are that Zwerlein has placed on them.
Hide site being 20/20, I wish that we would have redshirted Ndoye. One more year and he would have be a MONSTER. He had a GREAT game a the Free Throw line!
Go Bonnie's beat the Billikens !!!

Held Duquesne to 3-15 from 3...20%...Colter and Mason shooting 46% and 42% from 3, finished 3-11 today...WHO can't defend the 3? All you haters, just shut it if criticizing something that is inefficient (and the bonnies 3pt defense this season certainly qualifies) or is lacking in anything to do with bona basketball (or for that matter anything that has to do bonas), and the end result of the criticism is that the inefficient becomes efficient and the lacking no longer lacks, then how can that be hatred?...as one who has been known to be critical on occasion, if the deal is bonas will be better for it and one has to be called a hater, i'll take the deal...

Love it When Marcus gets hot from deep. His guns in the holster pose fits his last name.

..as one who has been known to be critical on occasion, if the deal is bonas will be better for it and one has to be called a hater, i'll take the deal... Constructive criticism on the Board is fine and should be expected, but lets not delude ourselves into thinking that what we type on this Board makes the Bonnies better in any way, shape or form.

Powell should play today but not Stevens. They were both suspended at the same time and Powell was back for the next game while Stevens has not been seen at games since. There has been no word as to what his offense was and I'm thinking he's gone for good. The last game between out schools was probably the most bitter defeat at home to the Brown Indians that I can remember. Even surpassing 1984 when Earl Belcher hit a buzzer beater at the Civic Arena to give SBU a 61-60 win. The Bonnies are rightly favored today but the way these teams have traded upset wins over the years has me thinking it's the dukes turn to send the hometown fans home in a foul mood. If the Dukes are to win I think it will be because both Mason and Colter have big scoring days. And an upset would put me in a better mood. I've been unable to purchase tickets for the 50th anniversary Grateful Dead shows in Chicago. aoxomoxoa, you guys should have appealed that 1984 game. Earl Belcher graduated SBU in 1981. And Jerry's dead. My memory must be failing me. I know someone hit a buzzer beater off an inbounds play in '84. I guess I projected the credit onto Belcher because he's my all time favorite Bonnie. Even with Jerry being gone I want to see those shows.

AOX - good to hear from you. How's the mood on the Bluff? I presume it is not too good right now. Must be a lot of questioning whether Ferry is the man to turn the program around and once again, it looks like another weak year for quality D1players in the City and WPIAL now and in the foreseeable future., so Ferry and staff will have to go outside the region, which is always tough, although they certainly can promote plenty of PT time available, particularly on the front line. Powell looks like a player, butt there just aren't enough of those residing on the Bluff these days, or anywhere close except Oakland, and there aren't really that many there either.. The mood is a foul one, ceharv. I'm very unhappy with the job Ferry is doing. There are very few alums still supporting him. I think he's brought in some decent talent, but he can't seem to teach them how to play the game effectively. I would not complain of both the AD and Ferry were fired after this horrible season. But with DU President Charlie Dougherty (an SBU grad for those who don't know) retiring in 2016 I have to think he'll let his successor deal with that. I'll be seeing your old pal Jim P. on Tuesday when I'm at his office to do some accounting work for him. I'll tell him you said hello.

In the hey day of the sixties, I remember George Carter stealing the ball at half court and laying it in at the buzzer for a 1 point Bonnie win. I didn't look up that facts, but that's what I remember. Anyone remember that game? I believe it was in Pitt also....what was the name of that arena?

I attended the game at the Pittsburgh Civic Arena in 1966-67. That was George Carter's senior year. However, according to what I found on the internet--but did not remember--was that the Bonnies lost in overtime despite a game-high 24 points by Bill Butler. As an aside, I remember taking a bus to Pittsburgh for the game. One of my classmates was especially memorable in raising hell along the way. It brought me up short to see him at a recent alumni event in a walker. Tempus fugit.

I remember that thrilling mid 60s win at "Homer Hall" (aka Civic Arena). Rick Azar had the call on Channel 7. It was difficult for any club to beat the Dukes at home in those days. Dukes had talent, but Manning hand picked the refs. Some of them were brutal.

Would love to hear details.

AOX......Very happy to see you sharing your thoughts. Have missed your Christmas Greetings the past two years. Thanks, wgt. I don't post or visit the various message boards very much anymore. I started my own business 7 years ago and I'm keeping so busy I don't even make all of the Dukes home games anymore. I hope all is well with you and the rest of the Bandwagon.
