God Rest His Soul.
One of the many NBA guards, along with Cousy, Oscar, Jerry & Sam that instilled my passion in the game. Back when palming was not part of the game.

faffy444......Yes Sam Jones! Early in his career he & KC Jones sat on the bench behind Bob Cousy & Bill Sharman. In this photo, Sam # 24 sits beside the “Cuz” while KC #25 sits next to Sharman. This Celtic team, prior to Hondo Havlicek & Don Nelson, was my most favorite pro team of all time. Cousy was my idol with 18.4 ppg & 5.2 APG. Most of his scoring came from WAY beyond NBA arc which did not exist back then. His PPG would be far greater if the trey existed. The far different criteria for a palming call back then IF applied to today’s dribbling would be called every 20 seconds. www.nba.com/2012/history/features/04/23/season-of-giants-celtics/
