a fine commentary, chuck..."...a player's final career is what should define a coach as a recruiter"...i mentioned a while back that in the last 45+ years of rooting for the bonnies, i estimated about 150 "misses"...well, add 3 more this spring...that makes it 153...every coach missed sometime...from coach wiese to coach schmidt...and az and fjs and the rest of you guys that go back to coach donovan, your number of "misses" is probably over 160... and the old expression "money talks"...oh, i know...some say it's an excuse...i'd agree with you if we had all this money the other schools have and we weren't challenging for the a-10 title every year...then i'd say there's no excuse for not winning more...and if i had the kind of money that really talked we'd have a new softball field and a practice facility... and i'd be with you, fan4ever, ...rob-fal and plassman would be history, replaced with 2 classic looking buildings with that beautiful style roof that we have on many of the buildings...but dev stays with some updating...for the money i'm talking about i think would require a phone call: "hello, may i speak to mr buffett?"... We are not challenging for an a10 title each year. It is a the A10 conference championship/ yes if you win you get into the tournament; however, we are not challenging for an a10 regular season championship each year... We are realistically a three bid league most years... maybe four... If we were challenging as regular season champs we would be making the NIT/NCAA at a much higher frequency.

The 6 bids happened once.. You are talking like it happens all the time..... Have you seen where the a10 tournament will be next year? It won't be at the Barclay's Center.... The conference isn't good enough.. Why does our tournament continue to move? Then why don't we get killer recruits? Our out of conference schedule was pathetic. We beat VCU when two of their stars were out.. I win is a win, but come on man.... The conference was smaller and better in the 80s/early 90s.... Temple and Umass were top 15 teams each year.... West Virginia was very good... Did i miss something, or isn't the A10 Tournament being held at the Barclays in 2016 again?!.. It moves every few years to give the conference more exposure in different areas. The hope is to attract more fans, and help the conference in the long run.. It was held in Philly for years, then Atlantic City, now Brooklyn, then Pittsburg in 2017 and so on.. Also, why the pessimistic view? Yes the A10 was pretty strong, when we had Temple and Umass, in the '90's. But we still have Umass, and VCU has stepped in for Temple, and as of right now, done a great job representing the A10! Personally, i'll take the A10, as it stands today, over the America League or the revamped Big East.. Yes/ they are bounced out by the bigger ACC. That is not true at all.... Why wouldn't they want to stay in Brooklyn??? Are you serious??? Umass? 2014 NCAA appearance/ before that 1998.. come on.... They are not the Umass of the 1990's.... VCU will be good but will take a big step back from where they were going.... their recruits are walking...

Re: the A10 tournay in Brooklyn (in brief)...
A10 was contracted through 2017 to play in Brooklyn. ACC wanted to rotate their tourney to NY for 2 years starting in 2017. They asked A10 to vacate one year early. In exchange, negotiated was the A10/ACC challenge over the next couple seasons in Brooklyn, along with a cash settlement.
A10 tourney sites: 2016 - Brooklyn 2017 - Pittsburgh 2018 - Washington DC 2019 and beyond - back to Brooklyn (long term)
If the A10 had renewed their contract to play in Brooklyn before the ACC interest, A10 tourney probably would have stayed in Brooklyn. That said, rotating to Washington DC in particular is probably not a bad thing.

They have enough North East schools now plus DUKE/UNC draw really well in NYC. The ACC will probably stay in Brooklyn or possibly move to Washington....

No way the North Carolina Schools are going lose their home state advantage by being up in the Northeast/Mid Atlantic every year.

ACC contract in Brooklyn is for 2 years (2017, 2018). A10 and Barclays Center have already signed a contract long term. A10 will be in Brooklyn in 2016, and will return to Brooklyn starting 2019.

My opinion is that they only did two years to test the waters... If they like it they will extend it.

"....they have never loved there other venues."
Not "there" or "they're" but "THEIR".
