Not being rude, but how? Mobley played in the NBA for 10 years/ was very good.... That team made it to the Elite 8, but should have honestly made it to the Final Four... They blew that game... URI wen to the tournament three years in a row during that time.... Tyson Wheeler didn't make it in the NBA, but we all remember how good he really was.... Lets just hope we have a team that an get to the NIT in the next few years/maybe the NCAA Hopefully we fill those next five spots with quality a10 players, and improve on our out of conference schedule. They weren't predicted to do any of that.. The mere fact that they beat Kansas in the Second Round was a shock.. I grew up on that team. Wheeler ran that team as the floor general, getting everyone involved. Mobley was kind of like his side kick, but a terrific scorer, much like Posely. But Reynolds-Dean was the glue that held that team together. He scrapped and fought down low, just like Dion Wright, and did all the dirty work.. Plus, RI had a tall lanky Soph Center in Luther Clay, much like Tyson.. Rhody went into the postseason with like 9 (don't quote me on that) losses, and as a #8 seed.. They weren't a powerhouse, but were capable of beating anyone on any night.. Now i know you don't like to give the A10 much credit these days, but last yr was down yr with 3 bids, but i can see possibly 4 to 5 teams making it this yr. Bona's being one of them That team was pretty good.... I just don't see it.... URI will finally do it this year.... VCU should, but who knows... Dayton /maybe one more pending on whether they get an automatic bid... but who honestly knows.... Why do you say that we will? We have 5 spots to fill/ we have no clue what will happen... don't you think that if a HUGE if? What was our RPI last year? 100 - 115, right? You need to be in the 50's/ you still might get bumped off by the committee... SBU would need to do the following: - get quality a10 recruits - Tougher Out of Conference Schedule/ do well - Limit your bad loses to one or maybe two - Dominate the lower half of the a10 - Win your fair share of games against the tougher teams within the league. If that happens then why not, but who knows if that really would happen... I have never said the league stinks... I don't think it is as good as the early to mid 90's... The league isn't getting those big time players..... I enjoy watching it, but they aren't getting those players....

Kamar McKnight ... do we have a shot? What players outside of Marcus Camby or Lamar Odom (who is a shoddy one to count considering the one and done season, and how he came to play for Harrick) from the '90's, are you referring too? Marc Jackson, Tyson Wheeler, and Cutting Mobley were all drafted in the 2nd Round.. And beating some of the top teams in the division, we did, against Davidson (at Davidson), and against VCU. Doesn't matter who played and didn't play, you play with who you have. Plus, you named 3 teams that should make it in URI, VCU, and Dayton. So thats 3 right there making it. Now if Davidson repeats what they did last yr, which will be difficult, or Richmond/GW has a little better season, their in. And in my opinion we're right there with those teams.. But its all speculation at this point and we'll see. I just choose to be more optimistic when it comes to my team..

Also thought this was interesting.. In a interview a couple yrs ago, Wheeler said, after playing pro over seas and his college career, St. Bonaventure was the toughest place he ever had to play in college.. www.ctalent.tv/?p=725

Per verbalcommits.com, St. Louis signed a two-star guard, but lost 2 current players to transfers. Things are really dry across the supposedly hot A-10! Not really sure if it's consoling, but at least we are not losing ground or losing our recruits to others in the league, b/c when looking at the info on offers, there sure seem to be several teams offering some of the same players.

The linked article above about the interesting Siena transfer demonstrates the recruiting intricacies that we often do not know about but which are often part of the process - his mom was very ill. I wonder if the fans at GMU ( which lost the recruiting battle when he came out of HS) were aware of that factor when they were trying to figure how their staff lost out to Siena. He looks like he'd be a nice pick up.
This is a huge weekend! Two visitors in - imagine the excitement here if the staff can go 2/2! Kyle who?!
