Bona's tuition and room and board package is very reasonable when compared with other Catholic colleges in the Northeast such as CC, BC, SJU, Duquesne, John Carroll, etc. A 2% tuition hike is acceptable. Besides as another alum who has had a child or grandchild apply to SBU, when the finance package is sent, Bona alums and their families do very, very well in the equation. Like in the application process to all schools, the real charges are contained in the final financial package, usually mailed out in the late spring. You don't buy a car for list, and you don't pay the advertised tuition r and b package either. Bona continues to offer a traditional Catholic higher education, on a beautiful campus, with very good facilities at a very affordable price. Now lets get the 500 frosh in the dorms in late Augsust.

Proud to say I helped close the deal for one student for this upcoming freshman class from Holy Cross in Queens. Got his parents ear at a St Patricks Day dance and went to work with many of those stats mentioned in this thread. Just saw our accounting program was recognized as well. Working on a few more students already for next years class. Anybody know who's taking over the SHARE effort for MJ? My HS alma mater - good for you brownindian11.

Working on a few more students already for next years class. Anybody know who's taking over the SHARE effort for MJ? way to go, brownindian...just to add what you said about our accounting program: #9 out of over 500 small colleges (less than 3,000 students) in the u.s...don't know who's taking mj's spot, but whoever it is hope he/she can keep up the good work mj did in that job...and speaking of share, good post, wgt, and welcome to the club, old coach...we've got a lot of people on this board who have what it takes to make a difference in the share program: 1) a love for bonas 2) a knowledge of the history/tradition of the school and 3) the smarts from spending time in the real world to explain how a bonas degree helps prepare you...so, if you've got the time, join the share program and make a difference!...

Well done Brownindian11 !!! This time of year a quick look at College costs on their web sites often provide figures for the past year & not the upcoming 2015-16 school year. The $41,275 cost at Bona I provided is for next year. www1.villanova.edu/villanova/media/fastfacts.html Take Note Last Year’s Costs The variables in comparing costs are due to a range of costs for residence halls, meal plan & various student fees. The tuition fee is the only # not subject to a range. A careful look at college costs will demonstrate that Bona may be the lowest costing Catholic University in the nation. At college fairs I always ask the reps of Catholic colleges total cost. Bona’s cost has yet to be beat.

Besides the price of attending Bona's, you must also factor in the Student to professor ratio. My daughter graduated in 2012 as a J/MassCom major. Most of her classes had 12-15 students. Also the professor was in the classroom not a grad assistant. With a small campus and community, she developed strong ties to her professors. She went into Bona's as a marginal student and blossomed over time thanks to the Good Journey.

MTG007 - Outstanding - this is exactly the message we need to deliver to prospective students. Marginal students with good intellectual potential thrive in small class size setting with the professor, not the TA in the classroom. We need more great testimonials like this one. 500 frosh in August 2015 that is our goal.
