Very nice get by the staff. Will slide right into Posley's slot when he graduates and keep a nice 3 guard rotation in the future.

Very happy with the signing. Thought we lost him for sure when he went to visit Boston College. He said his reason for transferring in the first place was to play in a conference of higher quality. Saw on his twitter he posted the Bonas logo and expressed his excitement on his decision. I get very happy when it seems players are genuinely excited to come to Bonas as opposed to choosing us because no higher conference team came along with an offer. Glad to have you on board, Matt.

Mobley Named All-Conference, Most Improved
Mar 03, 2015 Central Connecticut sophomore guard Matt Mobley was named Second Team All-Northeast Conference and was the league's pick for the Most Improved Player award, it was announced on Tuesday morning. Mobley led the Blue Devils in scoring in his second season in New Britain.
FULL NEC RELEASE
An All-Rookie pick as a freshman in 2013-14, Mobley wasted little time this season in announcing his arrival as a full-fledged star, scoring 30 points in CCSU's season opener against Fairfield. Mobley, who averaged 6.8 ppg in his first year in New Britain, lifted his scoring average over 10 points as a sophomore, the biggest jump in the conference this season.
His 17.2 ppg is the third-best mark in the league, and he also ranks in third in made three-pointers (2.4/game) and 11th in free throw percentage (.756). Dangerous inside and out, Mobley has gone to the line 156 times on the year, the second-highest total in the NEC. From Worcester, MA, Mobley has also tallied a league-best four games of 30+ points this season.
Mobley finished the season with a team-best 534 points in 31 games, just shy of the top-10 single season scoring marks in program history. He averaged 16.8 points per game in league play and had 12 games with 20 or more points on the season.

Posted in the 2015 Recruitment thread above.
Matt Mobley's days since his play at St Peter Marian HS, through his soph year at CCS has shown consistent & substantial improvement. He was named Most Improved Player last season in the NEC where he was one of the top scorers at 17.2ppg.
Matt was a highly effective scorer hitting 40% of his FGs, 36% TREYS & 76% from the stripe which he frequented. Only 1 player in the NEC had more FT points. Was #3 in conference in TREYS made & #2 in mpg.
In addition to his proficient scoring, Matt is a high character student athlete.
Sitting a year will help him adjust to his new school & the level of play in A10 Conference. An added benefit is learning the play book which we have seen some struggle with.

Video clips from Matt's Worcester days & High School. As a HS senior he makes for a good interview. At CCS he had 30+ point games 4 times & a 7-10 TREY night. Howie Dickenmann is a good coach but his team was terrible this past season. Matt was targeted by opponents to be the guy to stop. www.youtube.com/watch?v=bL2zFNDxapE March 2012 Interview at St Peter Marian HS www.youtube.com/watch?v=8WS_EOjJU-s APRIL 2013 Worcester Acad Highlights www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZD0xs6grso End of Season at Worcester Would love to see some video of him last season.

Matt shares with Dion the fact they had only ONE Div I offer out of HS. Goes to show how predicting success of teens at the next level is far from an exact science.
Dion is a remarkable story. Would be great if Matt impacts to the extent Dion has.

He's transfering because he wants to Play "a higher level of basketball"! Geez, they only won 5 games last year - one could say it appears they have been playing against a higher level of basketball!! Think about it !!!

Perhaps if he was more precise in his language, he would have also been unnecessarily insulting to his program. Think about it.
