Well said, and may God protect this Nation from the threats yet to come. On another note, is anyone going to the fireworks in Olean tonight. Perhaps they could give us an update on Olean's renovations to Bradner Stadium turned out. This topic has been covered on this board before, since there was talk on Bonas' playing some events under the lights there. I think it was soccer.

Our schools don't do a very good job of teaching why America rebelled or the sanguinary details of the conflict that won our independence. Much of this was neighbor vs. neighbor because it was only about one-third committed to independence with an equal number opposed. Read the history of what happened in the Schoharie and Mohawk Valleys, the most abundant source of grain for Washington's army that became a virtually depopulated wasteland by the war's end. My Revolutionary ancestor (one of them) never missed an engagement or call to duty from beginning to end. His father, brother, and brother-in-law were scalped in one of Sir John Johnson's raids by Loyalists and Indians from Canada. My g-g-g-g grandfather survived it all and raised a large family in a free country, living until 1833. His service is well documented because his widow lived to be 100 and was required to submit an affidavit regarding all that had happened when she applied for her widow's pension in in 1837. She received $63.11 per year for her remaining three years of life and was probably very happy to get it because those were the days when people expected little more than freedom from their government. God bless America and all who have sacrificed to make and keep it free and independent.

And our progress since is a testament to how (good) government improves lives!
