questions on how they intend to sell such expensive seats in the cattaraugus co market anyway "Currently we have 34 commitments for the 48 seats so the response has been very positive from our fans in purchasing these." Most of those fans will be giving up seats elsewhere in the arena for the courtside seats. How will they fill those abandoned seats?

good question on if these seats are drawing NEW season ticket holders or just upgrades from other sections
"We have seen a number of folks express their interest to sit courtside allowing us to accomodate new fans in the other Priority sections of the RC. In addition, we will be moving certain media seats, allowing us to add extra chairback seats in the blues to be able to offer to fans."

Since the only go to the highest donors, and many of them were on this board, I guess people weren't quite as upset as they seemed.

christopherspiker] 12:38 pm: But is it going to attract new fans and more money? If all the seats are taken by people who already had season tickets, they will only pay about $100 more than last season. Will this move capture the market of the surrounding area and is it worth alienating students who pay $20-40 k a year (plus a student fee of more than $900)? [austinec14] 12:39 pm: As a member of the Wolf Pack, my concern is with the loss of excitement with the “priority” seating in front of us. Will we be required to sit down during the games? Will we be made to be less rowdy? How are we supposed to enjoy our home-court advantage without actually being on the home-court? [dadster81] 12:39 pm: In all due respect, something that might seem small ( a row of seats) does in many ways go to core of many alumni's experience and memories of SBU. Great seats (something that bigger schools do not offer their students) because we the students are SBU. Bring in all the entertainment you want - it is still not the same as sitting courtside, for free, cheering on your fellow classmates who you see everyday. I do not think you understand the ripple effect this will have to the school as a whole

Tim Kenney] 12:39 pm: Pete Ash: The bleachers will not be pushed back any further than they were last season. The students may be 1-2 feet back from where they were before. This is really a very minor change in terms of distance that our students are from the court.

Has he addressed the alumni displeasure at all? Or is this a Dad saying "because I said so."

Has he addressed the alumni displeasure at all? Or is this a Dad saying "because I said so." haha.. umm well thats tough to say. He's getting a lot of grief and not really addressing it yes. But he's also not responding fast enough in general, naturally because it would be difficult. so it could just be he can't keep up with the comments of displeasure. SO yes and no I'd say

question on moving the TV booth to the other side
"At this time, the TV broadcasting area is on the same side as the students. While we understand what you are saying, we'd have to do some major renovations to be able to switch the TV cameras to the other side. Our TV partners prefer the cameras where they are, and it's also industry standard."

[SBU0507] 12:44 pm: Tim, I think you are seriously underestimating the impact of this decision and I speak for us all when I say that it has not been made with an understanding of what makes the Reilly Center special to students and fans alike. I encourage you to wait a year and make this decision after having experienced a year of home games.

current student: will the students behind the courtside seats be asked to sit down?
"No, you will not be required to sit down! Once again, we will reference Duke with the Cameron Crazies, who are separated from the playing surface by a full-length scorer's table but still continue to have a major impact on the atmosphere at their games."

[Tim Kenney] 12:46 pm: Chris: We believe strongly that our students, after they have the chance to see the new setup first hand, will embrace this change.
