Best movie to never win an Oscar, Emmy, Tony or Cy Young Award. Cheated out of every category.

Best movie to never win an Oscar, Emmy, Tony or Cy Young Award. Cheated out of every category. I have always said that Animal House is the best movie ever made; in the context of what it was intended to be. Having graduated in the mid-70s from a school where half the males were Greek, I can also assure any doubters that most of the scenes in that movie were not as greatly exagerated as some might think. Allegorical, yes, in the sense that while not everything portrayed in the movie ever happened in a single house in a single semester, something similar happened at some fraternity at some time in that era. I agree with Otter, "Well, you can do whatever you want to us, but we're not going to sit here and listen to you badmouth the United States of America."

Spring 1967 Dev riot about says it all.

"Fat, drunk and stupid, is no way to go through life son"! That movie had some classic lines.

Keeping with the Animal House theme -
Wilmer and the Dukes, which many claimed was the inspiration for Otis Day and the Knights in the 1978 movie “Animal House,” disbanded in 1974, returned with some different members in 1988 as The Legendary Dukes, then broke up for good in 2012.

well, I'm enjoying my time in the enchanted mts and with my wife in town for a long weekend she brought along her laptop so I'm finally getting caught up on my bandwagon reading...you proved my point 123rob that people on this board have good ideas...I particularly liked your idea for francis hall...I think the alums should get first chance at renting room/s there for b-ball games or whatever else brings them to town...

Why were so many of the good lines delivered to Flounder?
