Firstdev, you going to pay to buy tk out? All this conspiracy talk is laughable, every conference is establishing fines for court/field storming.

Bo2 - There is not one shred of evidence that the A10 was threatening to fine SBU for court storming or for having the most active and involved fan base in the league i.e.: in your face fans. That is just more TK propaganda justifying the great blunder. By the way court storming is a great and time honored tradition here at Bonas. I have personally participated in such activities at several venues including the UC/RC and the Aud - fantastic stuff! Events of which great memories are made. Stop trying to turn Bona basketball into a table tennis competition. SBU bball is not for the faint of heart, get used to it.

send Kenney (UB and Umass) back to Amherst (New York and Mass) Shout out on that one. Not the sentiment, just the tying it together.

I am not happy with the new seats in front of the students. Mr. Kenney has handled this very poorly. He starts out telling everyone that the new seats in front of the students are a fund raising necessity. Now we are told that the Atlantic 10 has required these seats. Does he not know or is he incompetent? Is the philosophy throw enough crap against the wall and something will stick? I have never met Mr. Kenney, but all reports up until this debacle have been positive. He needs to realize that SBU is different than UMASS and UB we care about our basketball program and a major change to what we hold near and dear needs to be well thought out. Many of us have been a part of that student section and it truly is what makes the RC unique. Maybe over time Mr. Kenney will gain an understanding of what SBU is.
That being said I will renew my five tickets and continue to support St. Bonaventure and I hope others will also.

Just think in a few months the complaints on this board will be "why isn't Coach Schmidt playing more zone, or doesn't this team practice free throws?". Boy, could this team use Eli Carter, Jalen Adams or Millinghaus (choose one the the list).

It could be worse. We could have brought in someone from the New York Racing Association, NYRA, to enhance the "customer experience" at the RC. For you horse racing fans, the most popular and iconic racetrack in the world in Saratoga is being run roughshod by marketing guys who are resorting to renting plots of land with picnic tables on them for the privledge of "guests" watching the races on a TV and losing their money. Actually being able to see the horses and watch the races live will cost you large amounts of money before you even make a bet. After all, it is all about the "fan experience" right? www.saratogian.com/sports/20150727/from-off-the-pace-till-more-change-at-saratoga

I would welcome the return of the days when we had threads to debate how many Congers were on the team.

He did'nt come to here to blow the place up? Yet he failed miserably to properly vet his hairbrained idea with alums, fans, season ticket holders and most importantly the student fans, who give the entire program its go.
And just to add insult to injury he is now using one of the most storied and respected athletes in Bona history, AN, as his cover to excuse his pathetic misconduct. Do us all a huge favor and resign. Please. What's next that Bob Lanier advised him to move the students?

And how would the reaction to this vetting have gone?? If TK asked for permission first would the response really have been any different? There is simply no good way to communicate this move that would not have received very energetic pushback by those who don't see the need for any changes to this situation. There would have been a longer more drawn out debate and people would dig their heels in and then be terribly offended when the decision went against what they would have preferred. Ultimately, due to the points of emphasis cited by the A-10 (as well as other conferences), the information in articles posted by Vinnie above and the fact that the school could face serious legal liability if it did nothing to limit access to the court and someone got hurt, this decision would have been made anyway.
The calls for vetting these types of decisions with the students, alums and fans just aren't practical and would not have softened the blow anyway. In fact it may have resulted in an even angrier fan base.
I doubt many students (particularly after a beer or few) are really thinking about possible injuries or legal liabilities to the school when in the act of storming the court. That's fine. We were all their age once and didn't think of longer term consequences. Let them have their fun like we all did. However, even a delay of a few seconds could be enough to get the officials and opposing players off the court and some security personnel onto the court, providing a much safer environment for court storming.

Kenney makes me want to puke. Now he throws Andrew under the bus. Reaching for sticks to try and justify his crap decision and horrible communications. Time to show Kenney the door. Adios loser.
