Anxiously waiting for the announcement of numbers for Frosh class (also for # of transfers in)! I suspect Admissions knows both the numbers of how many said they were coming and how many actually "checked in"! Got a bad feelings big that if they were equal to or better than past numbers they would have trumpeted them by now !

Don't schools typically announce them as part of the move in weekend coverage? I expect them to be released when new students move in. I am not sure when that is but it sounds like most of my co-workers kids are moving in to schools this weekend.

For the past couple of years the admin has been a little close mouthed about the number. Doubt if specific numbers will be given

Don't forget travel accessories. I travel frequently for work and I always make it a point to have a Bonaventure lapel pin, my Bona luggage tag, or (when leisure traveling) a Bona shirt, jacket, or hat. That's free advertising for the school and our athletic programs. I can't count how many times people have stopped me to ask about Bonas.

Interesting that you should mention travel accessories. I have a buddy whose son attends High Point University in North Carolina. The school is very aggressive in getting the word out about their college to a broader audience. On University vacations they transport their students to the airport. The students get a free ride to the airport if they wear a High Point shirt, but need to pay for the ride if they don't. The idea being to put a several 100 people on planes all over the country wearing High Point gear several times a year will help to get the University's name out. Wearing Bonas gear is an easy way to promote the University.

The President of High Point U is an extremely talented and agressive marketing genius who has done a phenomenal job in growing the resources and assets of the school! That success should be a "case study" for all higher ed leaders!

Towniegrad - The point of my starting this topic (even though I didn't correct the auto correct on my post) is that the issue of enrollment numbers is so prominent to all consttuents of the university and such a critical objective criteria that if the number was decent to good it would have been announced. Everyone is waiting for the "shoe to drop" - I, as most, hope it is good to great news. The longer it takes to announce it, the more concerned I will become.

Sneakers and Sony - great points...I have always yakked that SBU does not use the merchandise in the bookstore - hats, visors, sweatshirts, tee shirts, flags, etc to promote the school properly. Students [and their younger siblings], parents and alums love to wear the gear of their favorite school..
SBU seems to have very limited imagination when it comes to designing, stocking the shelves and marketing this stuff...it is a gold mine for many schools. SBU should beef up their efforts both in the bookstore and on line. I am in Chicago and always wear a SBU shirt or sweatshirt to Cubs, Hawks and Bulls games...I get many "go bonnies" nods ! Sell it big !

My SUV that I utilize for my soccer camps and clinics around New England is a travling advertisement for Bona's. Decals on both sides and rear, license plate BONA77, and I wear my Bona soccer T-shirts at every session much to the curiosity of the UConn soccer players and kids at their clinics. Players and parents are always asking me about Bonaventure, where is it, what is their soccer programs like for men and women and what attracted me to this tiny college in western New York. Then I hold court and inform the unenlightened about our treasure in the enchanted mountains. (is unenlightened a word, let alonge spelling) my excuse for everything, PE major say no more.
