Great job by the bloggers! First. You have to ask who their best player is (if you followed SBU you might remember Green from his Niagara days) and then you guys put down the broadcast stream. You guys should be happy with your Cuse.

Those assholes just don't learn. I guess I am done with that blog. Reading it was not much different than listening to the sound track on my 10 year old version of Madden football.

Perhaps you should make sure that your own blog posts aren't filled with typos before you hop on an opponents message board to knock the JMC school. Just a suggestion.

Is this that clown jay again? I can't disagree with what he is saying but what a tool for saying it to opposing fan bases.
He is like Met fans who say "I respect the Yankees"... Of course the Yankees get respect they have won a ton of championships but no self respecting Met fan would admit that...no..as a met fan Yankees are scum...end of story.
I am sure he is a Bills fan too but his "favorite NFC team" is the Cowboys or some nonsense.
It sucks such a ass backwards alum is given a microphone however small it may be.
Edit: John, not sure where I got Jay from, but its the same dude

Liked the way our defense responded in the Canisius game keeping them below their high scoring average. Lets hope the D can rise up once again to keep Hofstra below their 85ppg average ( #52 in nation). They are a real good shooting team, as evidenced by their .471 from the field & remarkable .408 treys. The shooting area we excel over them is from the stripe. Our 85% to their 64%. They hit from deep. #22 in the nation in treys made.
This is another game where we must beat them on the boards & we have the rebounders to do it. Dion’s 10 caroms a game has him ranked #2 in conference and # 39 in the country. The “worm” just has a nose for the ball & gets it with his instinct & length. Denzel is grabbing almost 7 a game & is #3 in the A10 in blocks. We are aggressive to the glass on the offensive end where we rank #92 nationally with offensive rebounds. We must win the board game.
Stopping their trey shooting will be a great challenge. In the past this has been an area of our game that was ugly. Last season we were #13 in conference defending the trey. Opponents shot a whopping .362 to our .314. Four games is a tiny sample but there is some improvement in that aspect of our game. We are #8 defending the trey (33%) while making ours at 32%.
Hofstra is loaded with city players who never give up. Down by 17 with just over 17 mins to play in their last game, they battle back to lead by 7 with under 2 to the buzzer. And then lose the game to take a hard body blow. I feel there is no lead safe enough against this group of players. Sure hope we are in a position to test their comeback capability rather than having to overcome their lead late.

Today's game figures to be one of the day's most interesting choices: Kenpom rates it #6 in "thrill score" while TeamRankings gives it today's 9th highest "hotness score." Hofstra shoots much better (54.6% eFG% to our 49.1%) and gives up three fewer fouls per game-- fouls we could turn into points. However, the Bonnies have a clear rebounding edge (4 per game), get more steals and blocks, and actually turn the ball over at a slightly lower rate. We will need to be hitting on all cylinders to win. Wish I could be there to watch. Go Bonnies!

Need a good game on the defensive end, keep the turnovers down and rebound the ball. I think we will make shots and score the ball.

Through our first 4 games we are shooting .430 from the field, .322 from beyond the arc and .826 from the stripe.
Hofstra through 5 games is shooting .471 from the field, .408 treys and .642 FTs.
With the rule changes this year (restricted area in the paint moved out to 4 ft from 3 ft & stricter calling of fouls involving contact) teams that attach the rim will benefit.
Hofstra gets to the line 24 times a game to our 23 a game. But our .826 conversion rate SHOULD favor us due to their .642, IF fouls become a factor in the outcome.
Marcus has increased his attacking the rim the last two games with good results. Hope to see more of the same today.

a little birdie told me - Hofstra had a great practice at the RC. Looking to get the Bonnies in early foul trouble again.
They don't think the Bonnies defense is enough to stop them the whole game long so, they are going to drive the base line.
They don't think the Bonnies have anyone that can handle their BIG men.
They know that the students are " off again " on break.
Local court side fans MUST play a 6th man role for the Bonnies to win. Those sitting in the Red seats need to be involved the entire game - PLEASE.
GO BONNIES

Just to make sure everyone understands, the eFG% I cited is "effective field goal percentage." Three point shots that go in are worth 50% more points than 2-point shots that make it. That makes eFG% the best metric in comparing two teams field shooting efficiency. For an even more complete metric, many also like to use TS%, the "true shooting percentage," which factors in free throw shooting accuracy.
