congrats to the women who beat niagara 4-1...i don't profess to know thing 1 about soccer, but i have to say that 2 of our 4 goals were beautiful shots from not near the net...they were the kind of shots that i think (and, once again, not a soccer expert talking here) if we have more of them as the season goes on i think will make us more competitive once a-10 play starts...the men, on the other hand, are still struggling...we are now 0-3-1 after giving up 10 goals in a pair of matches this weekend...the men are home next sunday vs robert morris...here's hoping they pick up their 1st win of the season...

Scoring goals in soccer is like hitting in baseball, sometimes it becomes contagious within a team. Lets hope the women continue to roll along blasting shots into the back of the cage. The men have been playing some tough opposition to open their play which should pay off when A-10 play starts. Maybe the women's contagious scoring can infect the men's side too. Great to see the women get their first win! Go Bona's

The men need to be playing a much weaker schedule.

I agree with you Pinnum, the men need to build up some confidence in their game, and some softer opponents early on would be just the ticket. Maybe in two years Elon would be a nice match up once program has established itself. There are so many small D1 teams that are far from power houses that would be just what the doctor ordered for this young mens team a chance to get their legs and confidence going. But I am sure as the A-10 season gets rolling coach will have them ready to compete. I was a tad more concerned with the womens start having some difficulty with soft early opponents, but today they showed real improvement and their future should be bright in the A-10 if they keep pounding the net with shots like they did today. Granted most of the teams in the A-10 are considerably stronger than Niagara, but again confidence is more important than competence in many games.

our women made it 2 in a row last night with a 6-0 trouncing of y'town state...we scored 2 goals in first 2 minutes of the match and, instead of taking our foot off the gas, kept the pressure on and made it 4-0 by halftime...it was an entertaining show, complimented by a bunch of students (i'm guessing they were the men's soccer team) doing organized chants in the bleachers that should get them a booking on snl...a fun night to be a bonnie!...

Great to hear the womens soccer team put a fork in Youngstown State early, sounds like they are getting the killer instinct to finish off teams.

congrats to the men who won their first match of the season, 1-0 over niagara...doubleheader next saturday: women at 3 and men at 5...here's hoping both teams will impress their families in for the weekend with a pair of wins!... correction...women's match starts at 2, not 3... the women had a strong first half, leading 2-0 at the break...bryant had the better of the play in the 2nd half but we held on for the 2-1 win...way to go, ladies!...as for the men, i wish we could find the back of the net...we lost 2-0 to marist...we play hard and our defense plays well enough to keep us in just about every game, but our offense...i mean, if a team gives up only 1 or 2 goals a game, there should be more wins and ties in the record than 1 win and 1 tie...but to do that ya gotta score 1 or 2 goals a game...here's hoping we find the back of the net thursday when we start our a-10 sked at home...

congrats to the men's team as it won its first a-10 match of the season, 3-2 at davidson...i think for the most part our defense has been fairly solid...if we can get 2 goals a match for the rest of the a-10 sked, i think we'll be in every match and compete for an a-10 playoff spot; 3 goals a match and we'd be in the a-10 playoffs for the first time in a number of years...

congrats to our men's soccer team who evened their a-10 record at 2-2-1 with an exciting (and sometimes chippy) 1-0 overtime win over dayton...for a program that has struggled for a while now, it's amazing to think how close we would be to challenging for the league lead...if we had scored 2 more goals in our 5 league games we would be 3-0-2 and 1/2 game out of 1st place (st louis has played l less game than us)...so here's hoping we find the back of the net 6 times in our last 3 league games (2 goals a game should do the trick)...i think that will get us in the a-10 playoffs and, once in the playoffs, who knows?...a 3 game win streak and we're league champs for the first time since...don't know...maybe ever?...
as for the women, unfortunately, they're struggling...hopefully we can get our 1st a-10 win of the season today...but they're not struggling in the classroom...they had a 3.43 gpa last year, marking the 10th year in a row they have been recognized for their academic accomplishments...way to go you bonnies!...

The men's turn around has been astounding. The difference in resources between the Bonnies and many of the other A10 teams is staggering. This is a successful season.

way to go, men's team!...yesterday's 1-0 win over gw was big...very big...with a very tough match saturday at 1st place st louis and 1 other match left after that (at fordham), we needed to take care of business at home...and we did...with the beautiful enchanted mts in the background on a splendid afternoon...sad to report, however, that "the heart" is slowly disappearing as that area is filling in with various growth of some sort or another...p.s. good luck to the women as they play at home tonight vs davidaon...

The women's soccer team is up 2-0 at the half against Davidson, I hope they win out and get into the play offs. Maybe the men's soccer teams scoring success is catching on with the women's side. Go Bona's Soccer!
