We will know early on if this team has the makings of NCAA bid with non conference games-set aside Florida look at games against Hofstra, Siena, UB, UNC Wilmington, and teams in the tourney like Ark Little Rock. These are all pivotal games that if they take care of business sets up the conference season very well.

You can say that again...anything less than 5-1 in that 6 game set will put the Bonnies behind the 8-ball for NCAA bid. Cannot expect another 14-4 A-10 regular season.
Go Bonas!

These are all pivotal games that if they take care of business sets up the conference season very well. Here is the Bonnies Schedule. Games in black are CollegeSportsMadness.com's top-144 teams (announced or expected), which are the teams that would be most often considered good wins and not bad losses (if there is such a thing). (H) St Francis (pa) (N-A) Florida(N) Ark-Little Rock(N) Central Michigan (N) Pepperdine (H) Siena(H) Buffalo(A) Hofstra(H) UNC Wilmington(N) Niagara (H) Army (H) Canisus (A) UMass (H) Dayton(H) George Mason (A) Richmond(N-H) Fordham(A) Saint Louis (H) Saint Joseph's (A) Rhode Island(A) Duquesne (H) VCU(H) Saint Louis (A) George Washington(H) La Salle (A) Dayton(A) Saint Joseph's (H) Duquesne (A) Davidson(H) UMass 13 of 30 games against top-144 teams. 14 of 30 games against prospective NCAA/NIT caliber teams. Six of those 14 games will be hosted by the Bonnies and have the home crowd advantage. That stretch with Siena, Buffalo, Hofstra, and UNC-Wilmington will be a real challenge but three of those games are in the RC where the support of the crowd can help. Challenging schedule--especially considering I expect the bottom teams in the A10 to be much improved compared to last season.

11-1 or 10-2 OOC if everyone is healthy...then we could use an 13-5 at worst, then at least 2 tourney wins

No idea how the CSM's preseason top 144 will correlate with Kenpom's ratings at the end of the season, but for what it's worth the Bonnies played 15 games (including the A10 tourney) with teams ranked in Kenpom's top 144 at the end of the 2015-16 season. However, two of our losses were to lower ranked teams.

I would say knowing what we know about NCAA selection-we would need to be one loss or less! in Non conference (preferably an upset of Florida)in order to have a chance at an at large. That would be difficult but I think this team could do it.

If we can beat Florida it will give us a little wiggle room with some of the other games in case there's a let down. It doesn't make any sense but its obvious the committee would believe 9-3 OOC with best win against Florida is better than 11-1 OOC with best win Wilmington. so go down there and beat the Gators!
another thing that will be funny is the way the Florida game will be treated. Even though its absolutely a road game played 2 hours from Florida's campus because they are renovating it will be called a "neutral" game for SURE if St. Bonaventure knocks them off. Do you think if Florida played us in Rochester it would be considered a "neutral" game? haha very funny

I want to say its 4 games. Florida is playing multiple games there yet if you look at ESPN, it lists the games as a neutral location so who knows? I know it comes into play with NCAA tournament because teams cant play games on their own floor (unless you are Dayton in the First 4 apparently) so Villanova will limit their schedule when Philly hosts the East region so they dont get taken out of consideration for that region. Anyway, it will be interesting to see how the game is categorized. A road win is obviously much better than a neutral win.

There was some confusion a few years back so rules were written to clearly define it and it is officially declared on the official stats forms (which are necessary for the NCAA computing the weighted RPI). The game in Florida is a Florida home game (Bonnies Away Game). The game in Rochester with Fordham is a Bonnies home game (Fordham Away Game).

In the selection meeting they will see it as a home game. That doesn't mean that some SEC talking heads won't mention it being away from campus. But honestly, it wouldn't hold much weight for the state's flagship playing in the center of their state against a small school 1,200 miles away.

Florida game-are there any Alumni in Florida going to this game. It's not too early to think about. This is a circle the Wagons type game in my opinion
