Chinoso is a good kid by all accounts but a mediocre basketball player at best. Given our current record/standing we should be getting minutes for Ikpeze and Ayeni rather than trying to work Chinoso back into the lineup anyway. Andoh played a bunch of minutes in the GW game because Ayeni was in foul trouble and Ikpeze struggled guarding their versatile bigs. Henry and Washington for LaSalle are more traditional big men so I look for Ikpeze to have a bounce back game at least minutes wise. I agree let's just stop talking about Chino, his career is over here....complete bust, but I think it's ok as we got to get our young bigs some time they might not have gotten. I still believe if we are going to do anything in Pitt that Andoh will have to win us a game, he has the ability to get hot and score some points. On the Adams front, all I can say is wow, he has shot the ball as well as a middle schooler as of late. It's not his ankle, it's his confidence.

I'm intrigued to see the match-up tonight on the defensive side of the ball for the Bonnies. LaSalle shoots high volume 3s and makes a high percentage. If Pookie is going to play that is just one more shooter and facilitator we have to worry about. He has missed the last 5-6 games so maybe the struggle to get him back into the flow of the offense but I think that is unlikely. Bonas has been most effective on D in there matchup zone/1-3-1 combo. Against an above average shooting team like LaSalle it will be hard to stay in that defense unless we execute it perfectly. That means we will probably see more man to man tonight which has improved but still we struggle rotating at times.
At the other end of the floor I'm going to be displeased if we don't shoot just as many 3s if not more than LaSalle. They might be the only team in the A10 that gives up more open looks than us. That doesn't mean we should abandon our offense but I think Mobley and Adams (assuming he has found his shot) can have big nights. Speaking of Adams' shooting. Go back and look he had bad shooting games in both the DC area games he has played, GMU '16 and GW '17. You have to wonder if returning to "home" he doesn't put too much pressure on himself to perform. Which could be a problem with the A10 tournament being in DC next year. I know that is really getting ahead of myself but it is something that we might want to monitor.

Jay has certainly been in a slump but he has still been a difference maker getting to the line and setting up his teammates. His 19 and 11 at GW is a good example. He does seem to lack confidence. You see him shaking his head after misses. I have been there (not that I ever was the type of shooter he was), he just needs to see a few drop and he will be right again. The matchup tonight scares me because they have an explosive offense and ours is struggling. Their D is not great so if there is a night to get right, this is it. Huge game for the standings as winning it puts us in 5th. A loss would really hurt.

I also think Jay's ankle is still effecting his shooting. At the line, no problem, sort of a set shot. But driving to the basket, or taking long jumpers, I think it is coming into play. Last game, Mobley just had a "lid on the basket" game. On a side note, "Hoosiers" is on Amazon Prime right now for free. What a great flick, especially for any one who is older (like me) who grew up in a small town.

I think Jay has to keep shooting, but ought to dial it back a bit. They don't award 4 points for shots made from beyond the NBA trey line. Hit a few from just behind the line, then work back to the super deep shots he likes to take. They do provide value of energizing our fans and silencing opponent's arenas, plus ruining defensive game plans and opening up driving lanes, but right now we need his shots to fall and for Jay to get back to being Jay. And as someone noted above, it sure would help for Jay to start the game hot.

My perception is that there are two things at work here: One is that Jay might be better recovered from the ankle injury now (but it seems he tweaks it every now and then during games as we see a limp return). However, once he got back from the ankle injury, his shot became effected by him favoring the ankle and he now has to figure out how to get his shot back after dealing with this. The other factor, I believe, is that every team has gone out of its way for a while now to shadow him wherever he is on the court. I don't know if he has also been "slowed" by the injured ankle, but it is likely influencing his ability to run without the ball to get open. I think he is doing what he can to try to assist his teammates (many who, I might add, are not helping themselves by blowing scoring chances) or getting to the line for foul shots. Hopefully, he can return to be the "old Jay" and Mobley can be a little more consistent and be there almost every game (such as his performance against VCU, not the one against GW). That being said, we HAVE to get more production out of Denzel (with less stupid fouls, like his 5th against GW) and more consistency out of Idris or we'll have to expect that a "hero", like Ikpeze or Andoh or Ayeni or Griffin is going to have to go off in the rest of the games. I think it's time for the "Captains" to rise to the occasion to lead this team in a better fashion or these guys are going to be left frustrated with the end result...

I hope there is a decent crowd tonight. The basketball twitter account was having doing a give away of court-side or blue seat tickets this afternoon that makes me nervous that we are going to have a small crowd. I think they gave away 4 or 5 pairs of tickets, which I think is a great idea. Better to give tickets away and have someone at the game than have empty seats.

The run starts tonight...Bonnies will be locked in from the tip. Make some shots, play solid D, rebound the ball and limit turnovers. Let's send the Explorers back to Philly shell shocked. Bonnies are bound to put it together. I expect that to happen tonight.
Go Bonas!

La Salle & Bonnies have been the top scoring A10 teams this season. However in conference play both have lost a lot of their Juice. Bona has dropped to # 8 and the Explorers to # 5 scoring in the conference. Quite a drop off.
Both really struggled on D but Bona has turned around their overall D in conference play while La Salle has not.
Bonnies have significantly improved defending the TREY! They were #13 but presently they are #6 in the A10. La Salle is #11.
La Salle's TREY shooting much better, #3 (.384) to our # 11 (332). Lets see if our improved trey D will show up tonight. If it does & Jay & Matt shoot well La Salle will be challenged to win on the road. We can’t afford to get into early foul trouble which we have done several times with bad results. If we avoid stupid fouls AND bad calls we should out rebound them with the opportunity to make hay on the offensive glass.
We have the potential to turn them over and create an advantage. Hope we have a lots attending with the students creating a tough environment for the visitors.

Visiting my daughter in poughkeepsie, thought I'd be stuck with Gary due to the TW blackout but DUNGA is rocking the LaSalle video.
Impressive 1st 1/2. Can run with anyone in the A10 Tourney if we have our A game

Long way to go- need to keep it going in the 2nd half.
Anyone else notice how the "negative nellies" - so called fans - are no where to be found tonight. When things are not going well, we see posts from them every minute. Interesting.
