Speaking of "illegal screens", it was this call against the Orange that cost them their game tonight at Georgia Tech as they had a chance to tie or go ahead with about :12 seconds left after clawing all the way back from a double digit deficit.....The Yellow Jackets go on to win with foul shots and SU misses....It probably won't keep them out of the "at large" category, but at least will put a dent in their hopes with some tough games left. You just can't spell "S-U-C-K-S" without SU....

That was a terrible call. Ive had it with officials at the college level going out of their way to be part of the outcome. So many soft and 1's this season too, it drives me nuts. This is going on all over the country and its really souring the games for me.

I thought Syracuse player had his leg out past the width of his shoulders and therefore the call was made. If it wasn't made, SU guard had a better path to the basket and therefore an advantage. Of course, I'll be the first to admit that I am a little biased against the Cuse....

His arm (and maybe leg?)was out a little bit but he was set. The call can be justified by the rule book but you see 100 screens like that a game not get called. To call it on the last possession, it has to be a murder scene or you had to have called it all night up to that point. You see soft and 1's and then guys get murdered with no call in every game you watch. Then to see a "gotcha" call in the last 20 seconds just grinds my gears.

We're so deep into conspiracy theory on this board at this point that we're now complaining about an individual call or non-call of an illegal screen in a Syracuse game that we didn't play in?

I wouldnt call it a conspiracy. More like observation after watching 10 basketball games per week.

Sorry. I just enjoy the fact that a team and coach I can't stand finally seems to get some bad karma going its way when it seems like we are recently getting the brunt of it....I'll stop now....for a while...

Can't agree more - Syracuse and their corrupt Coach deserve huge criticism especially in light of his NCAA suspension for being unable to control his program. But the truly reprehensible aspect is that this program, denounced for their continuous violations NCAA rules and regulations, was picked over Bonas for the big dance last year. Unbelievably the A10 failed to react in real time, and seemed too stunned to respond. I still find it hard to accept this league's failed conduct and the horrendous decision of the Selection Committee.

First dev - are you suggesting that if the league has reacted sooner or in a more vocal manner the Selection Commiittee might have reversed itself and put the Bonnies in the tourney? If so, sorry but that's crazy. Once the field is announced the process is over. The committee has never and will never reverse a decision based upon the reaction to the decision. Time to move on and forget the '16 travesty. Well maybe not forget, but at least quit complaining about it.

- if we could not complain, what would we talk about here?

I do not understand Bona fans that root for Syracuse.
You attended Bonaventure not Syracuse. They do not want to play us on a yearly basis.
I grew up in CT and attended Bonaventure. During that time and to this day I do not root for UConn nor would I ever. UConn has not played us since we blew them out in CT in the early 2000's. Why have they not played us again... because we beat them.
Go Bonas!

If memory serves, I think we did play them one more time after we took that game in Hartford and they beat us. Don't have time to look it up right now.

The A10 knew full well that Syracuse was pitching for a berth in the Big Dance, if they did not they apparently were on a retreat in the mountains of Northern Peru. They had a duty to tell the Selection Committee in no uncertain terms that our program was not the corrupt mess that Syracuse was and is. And that we were co champions of the league. But alas they failed miserably - they were not proactive - in fact they were not even reactive. Their performance in our defense was just plain pathetic. A sorry chapter in A10 history.
