This whole thing needs to be exposed. We were caught up with the VBK and Wick welding scandal and paid a heavy price. We are much better off today because of it but the program and school was put through the meat grinder.

LSU should be banned from postseason for a couple years and lose future scholarships.
Suspending your coach is nothing. I wish all we had to do was Suspend JVBK.

This is the best. Loughlin and her husband paid $500K to have their daughters apply as members of the school's crew team - and they do not crew. If you are going to spend that kind of $, at least go for a 10 ten academic school. Palm to forehead.

I had held Wade in high regard for years for coming to our defense after the snub. As painful as the court storm loss in the RC was, I didn't hold him any grudge. But, his status has eroded with me for blatant violations, and now complaining that he ought to be allowed to 'do his job'. He should be praying he will still have a job, let alone avoid legal action. www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/26262626/wade-tells-lsu-allowed-coach

The model that has come to my mind for Wade is that he understood how things worked for the "elite" vs. the "great unwashed masses" of D1 basketball. He indicted how he had the ability to do some of the things at VCU that the elite are able to do. Part of his point was that Bona got screwed because we were not as able to do those things (buy games).
The rest of the model, for me, is that he decided that whenever he had the chance, he was going to go all in on playing the elite game. How much he really had the ability to do at VCU vs. what only became possible at LSU is unknown, but it sure appears he went for it after he moved up.
This scandal and the elements of the admissions scandal that broke this week only re-enforces for me the belief that the NCAA needs reform. My concern, though, is it will only be made worse.

If you are going to spend that kind of $, at least go for a 10 ten academic school. Palm to forehead. hilarious stuff. They weren't the only ones that tried that of course. Others paid to have their kids admitted on like the tennis team with the lower academic standards. I guess there were fake tennis recruiting videos made and the like. What I didn't hear about though, and I would kill to find out, was what happened when these kids got to campus? Did the Loughlin daughters show up to crew practice and the coach figure out they never been on the water in their life? What about the tennis girls? did they pick up a racket and embarrass themselves or did they hide in their dorm rooms? haha

You have to read the articles and indictment. It is like a script for a comedy movie. I like the fact that many of these people took a donation deduction on their tax return. Now the IRS gets involved!! Also Loughlin's youngest daughter is some sort of social media queen with alot of endorsements, who basically said she would go to college for the parties and games, but not for the education. She found out about her mom and dad's issues while on the yacht of the USC's Chairman of the Board (!!!) down in Bermuda. I am going to create an HR moment here, but one of my fellow Bona grads said based on her looks, we should have kicked in $ for her to go to SBU. No they did not show up for the sports, the coaches knew cause they received a kickback (in many cases). Now a class action suit has been started by other people wanting $ because their college diploma has lost value, want their application fees back because they never would have applied had they known the system was rigged, etc. This is going to be in the headlines for a while.
