Since we officially only have one scholarship remaining, and supposedly one of next year's two open 'ships will go to Agee, what would you like to see happen with these two opportunities that have presented themselves?

I just think the immediate need is another interior post player. Roseboro is a higher need than Chandler at this point.

This might have already been answered elsewhere, but would Roseboro be able to play this year or would he have to sit out a year?

This might have already been answered elsewhere, but would Roseboro be able to play this year or would he have to sit out a year? In the article where they mentioned Roseboro being interested in the Bonnies, it stated they did not know if Roseboro would have to sit out a year. I wonder if Marquette giving him his release makes a difference, which according to Roseboro's high school coach is pretty much a done deal with him stating Marquette does not want him. The reason why I wonder about the significance of his release is Bonnies releasing Dan Cage and Patrick Tatham after the scandal. They did not have to sit out a year. This could have been a special circumstance, because of the scandal.

I assumed he would be eligible since he never played for Marquette, but that is a very good question.

Corey would be a great signing. I don't know if I agree with that statement. I look at it like a draft scenario, does your team draft what it needs or simply try and take the best player available regardless of position. I think this team's need for immediate post depth outweighs the future 2 year benefit of having a top 100 player.

Using your scenario a team has the option of picking a star that will have to wait a year for or they could pick up a project that will help immediately, but probably will struggle. Believe every team would go for the star over the project. Do not believe it is even a consideration. Schmidt has to wait one year for a player ranked 62nd in the nation and has him for 2 years or a big man project who can contribute immediately. Have to believe this is a no brainer with Schmidt waiting for the big time player.

Since the development of recruiting sites on the internet, Mario Boggans is the only player the Bonnies have signed that was a top 100 recruit. A small mid major like the Bonnies rarely have the chance of signing a top 100 recruit. Strongly believe, if there are not serious social issues Bonnies will not hesitate to sign a big time talent like Corey Chandler.

Chuck - You make good points, I just think that 1) Roseboro would be much less of a project at Bonas than he would have been at Marquette; 2) we will have plenty of experienced guard depth already on the 2010 roster (Eleby, Ogo, Davenport, Agee); and 3) Schmidt's top priority should be giving Nicholson, Matthews and Hall the full complement of players they need to be successful this season. That being said, Chandler would be a nice pick up, I just think Roseboro makes more sense.

Boy is it an exciting time to be a Bonaventure fan....its neat to read all of your different views on a talent level of players much better than we have seen in a while...how cool is that?...AND, i dont know about you guys but i get the feeling its really turning around for our brown and white and this could be something really special not too awful long from now..! I will never forget getting in trouble with the elementary principal because i was late getting to the school to pick up my son that day the Bonnies went to triple OT against Kentucky.....she got over it, much easier than my boss did...i had to take the day off work in order to see the game...didnt want to risk playing sick and leaving early and not being able to go, so blew the whole day off to watch the game.....i wanna do it again!!!! but only because the Bonnies are in the tourney,of course.

I may be wrong but I think that gino72 was indicating that he hopes both players want to come to Bonas & Mark must decide on one over the other if there is only 1 ship to offer. That said, Roseboro would develop under Mark but may have a limited impact his frosh year. House potentially could be at least his equal in providing what’s needed. Corey is a proven commodity that you can bet will contribute significantly in Andrew’s last two years. If he wants to be a Bonnie it would be tough to pass up on such a skilled player. But all this is like juggling puffs of smoke. And I believe there are some puffs out there that have not been mentioned. Lots to speculate on.
