I liked reading the reports of the opener. Now, I am getting psyched for Tuesday night's game in Rochester. It will be my first look at this year's team.
SJU beat LIU by 13 last night and leads the all-time series vs SBU, 11-5.
Let's Go Bona's!!

Interested to see what the line will be. If I had to guess I'll say it will open SBU +4.5.

I was thinking about it earlier today and thought either team could be a 2 point favorite,
Some other thoughts:
- if we can play anywhere north of fair we will give ourselves a chance to win unless of course St.Johns shots 70+%.
- we had almost 5,000 last night; have to believe and hope for 7,500-8,000 for the Rochester game.
- a victory against St. Johns could propel the team to a very strong start of the season.
- will this game be on Bonnies all access? channelsurfing.net? or another online channel? I love being awake from 1am-3am and so hyped up I don't fall asleep until 4am .... thank god I live in Denmark and can stroll into the office at 09.55!
Lots of reasons to be optimistic for this season but Michael Davenport's performance and additional upside takes alot of pressure off the our preseason big 3 ..... now one of them can have an off night and there is Michael to pick up the scoring slack!

Nothing at all seems to be written in the Rochester papers. If so then please explain how SBU benifits from this venue? Or is this for the SBU alums that live in the area? Also, the tandum of Congers and Davenport will give the bonnies what this program has lacked for years.

I didn't have time to post for the last points game, so I'll do so early this time and say Bonnies 72-69.

Coach Schmidt has interviews lined up with various media outlets in the coming days, so hopefully the word will get out.

November 14, 2009 11:20 AM Kennedy shines in St. John's victory »By Dick Weiss Count us as one of the people who feel 6-6 junior guard D.J. Kennedy, who scored 16 points during St. John's 83-70 victory over LIU last night at Carnesecca, could be a future NBA player. This Red Storm team is definitely improved and has the ability to put multiple players in double figures during any Big East game. Among the the new players, we really like guard Dwight Hardy, a deep shooter who finished with 14 points; and 6-8 Justin Brownlee, who had 12. Guard Jaytornah Wisseh put on a show for Jim Ferry's NEC Blackbirds, scoring 28 points and contributing 4 rebounds and 4 assists in the loss. State »By Dick Weiss What a great job by Tommy Dempsey and his Rider team, smoking 10th-ranked Mississippi State, 88-74, in Starkville. Broncs were dominant, getting 21 points from Mike Ringgold and Novar Gadson and making 63 percent of their three-point shots. Like most teams, Rider had no answers for Miss. State's 6-9 Jarvis Varnado, who finished with 22 points, 14 rebounds and 7 blocked shots, but they held the SEC Bulldogs to just 10 field goals in the second half. Is this the year the MAAC - with Siena, Niagara and Rider - merits two teams in the tournament. This mid-major league should be so much fun to watch. It appears that this game will not be streamed via GoBonnies.com. I'm a little disappointed. I understand this isn't technically a home game, but one would think we could figure out how to get this up and running for the non-locals.

That is up to the Bona sports information staff they would have to hook up their equipment up there. Which I am not sure why they don't get up early and set up a camera. We are all after all dropping $45 a year, for what I think is a much better product this year by the way. It also wouldn't hurt to have some students or someone doing play by play rather than getting just coach cam.

Anybody know how to get to the ST JOHN's message board? I used to but can't remember, I'm just curious how their fans are looking at this game.

This is from the St John's team meeting itself, " its a pain in the A$$ fly'in Upstate just to beat a bunch of losers " as I've been told this is coming from their own Coach's. SBU isn't even on their radar and they are already looking past us. Not too sure about this one, they have a picture of a cow milking contest in taped up in their locker room with " Home of St Bonaventure College " on it.
All the Bonnies need to do is just go to work and do their business. The "W" will follow.
GO BONNIES

The Johnnies have 7 NYC area players & one is a Stith. Malik Stith at 5’11” has no hook shot but bombs from deep. The Red Storm returns their 6 top contributors from last year with one more year of experience playing together. Coker is quite a shot blocker & Kennedy does it all. Game will be on local NYC radio (Bloomberg 11:30 on the dial) which will help name recognition in the area. Hopefully a great Rochester show of support will rattle the Red Storm who are not a good road team. Go Bonnies!

"You don't think the majority of the fans will be rooting for SBU?"
They sound pretty smart. HAHA!
