Illinois State - 76 Bonnies - 70
I watched Illinois State one time and Osiris Eldridge was unconscious. Plus this is a road game. Love to be proven wrong.

If SBU gets beat, it's going to be through guard play and free throws. However, I think our guards have been solid on the defensive end, and can probably hold Osiris and Phillips to their season averages. As far as FTs go, I thought the team was turning a corner early in the game, but things seemed to fall apart for the guys down the stretch.
We all know what the story will be in the frontcourt... I don't think ISU has much of an answer for Nicholson the way he has been playing.
SBU is more battle tested than ISU: of the 5 teams ISU has played and beaten, they combine for 4 wins, with none of those teams having more than 1 win. Yikes.

Hopefully this is NOT the game that FT shooting hurts us!
Illinois State is ranked #75 in the nation while we are around #147 according to Gary on the audio last night.
Is this a game where a victory will jump start a season to remember? Sooner or later we will have to win a game or games like this if we are going to return to a respectable/prominent position in Men College B-Ball.
Of course there will be other chances later: Miss State, Syracuse, Niagara, A10 play ..... but why not start today!
SBU - 72 ISU - 69
Go Bonnies!!!!!

ISU's superior guard play and bulk overtake SBU's quickness and grit. Hope I am wrong.

This is one of those instances where it's a good thing that we're playing three games in three days. We're clicking right now, especially Andrew, and I don't think the Redbirds are going to stop that.
