MikeDyer Withrow senior Carl Porter leaves Friday to take official visit to St. Bonaventure, says Withrow basketball coach Tyrone Gibert about 1 hour ago mobile.twitter.com/mikedyerCarl Porter- Withrow: The senior SF averaged 16 points and 8 rebounds by floating under the radar as teams focused on Thomas and Devin Williams. Carl is the best leaper in the league and his dunks this season were matched by his ever improving shooting and ball-handling. Carl Porter- 6'4 Withrow SF: Big time leaper who has improved his shooting and ball-handling exponentially. A great rebounder that can now take the ball down the court and dunk it or pull up. Plays with great effort and understands what his role is on a team. Considered, by this blog, as the #4 player in Cincinnati. cincyprephoopsreport.blogspot.com/p/cmac-wrap-up.html

I'm sure recruits who visit this board love reading all the waaing and lack of confidence some of the misguided have in this coaching staff.
I'm sorry but what Schmidt has done in four years here rivals some of the best coaching jobs in the history of this program. Don't give me a lecture on the history of the program, I have been a lifelong fan and know the history of this program thoroughly. Turning it around so quickly from the absolute mess he inherited is nothing short of miraculous. That is why I have confidence in him and his coaching staff.

The first house I ever owned backed up to Withrow HS. Cinci is a great basketball town. I'll check with one of my buddies who coaches HS ball in Cinci to see if he knows anything about Porter.

Carl "choo-choo" Porter is a great addition. The 'nati is a great recruiting area and glad the staff has connections there. Wish I made it to one of his games last year but I am familiar with his name.

My friends are telling me that in talking with players on the team they were very impressed with Porter in playing with him yesterday. They feel like he will be an impact player next year. This recruiting offseason keeps getting better and better.
