I wonder if Bonaventure would do a package deal like what they did with Vidal and Elton....
From Rivals....
6-foot-10 225 pound Center Rockwell Moody from Bishop O'Connell HS in Arlington, vA saw his recruiting pick up a bit during the month of April. He has offers spanning from the Patriot League all the way up to the Big East. We spoke with his guardian Scott Colenda this weekend about the recent activities surrounding Moody's recruitment.
"We're happy and pleased with the interest that Rock has received," Colenda told us. "All of the schools have been great."
Moody has been visited by Marquette, Richmond, Villanova, Lehigh, St. Bonaventure, James Madison, and George Mason. He has offers from all of those schools, as well as an offer from Georgetown. Maryland is in the picture, but they have not yet stepped up with a firm scholarship offer.
One aspect of Moody's recruitment that sets it appart is his living arrangement. Scott Colenda's son Jason plays for Bishop O'Connell as well, and both he and Moody play AAU ball for NOVA United. The two are close friends, and there has been some discussion of them attending college together.
"I think that Rock is intrigued by the opportunity to play with Jason," Colenda said. "He'd like to find the best basketball situation, a place he can either start right away or play a lot early. But at the same time, the Big East and the ACC are really appealing to him. He really liked the Villanova coaches when they visited."
Moody will visit Villanova some time in the next couple of weeks.
Jason Colenda, a 6-foot-1 PG who's also an outstanding student, has offers from Lehigh, Dartmouth, Navy, and Yale, as well as interest from Cornell, American, St. Bonaventure, George Mason, James Madison, and Princeton.
