There are multiple aspects for evaluating the recruiting done by this staff. My most recent posts have been critical of the process aspects of recruiting that I see - especially the passing on solid, if not spectacular, prospects while ending up in the spring with a shocking inventory of available scholorships. This has led to an unavoidable hit to confidence in many members of the fan base. In my case, that hit to confidence is directly proportional to the increase in risk that the program takes on under those circumstances.
None of that justifies trashing the individual recruits that the staff is bringing to campus at any given time. Do I get nervous at these levels of risk? YES! Do I think there are still quality players out there? Yes again.
Let's give the kids a chance.

Agreed - any such criticism should be directed at staff and their process etcc... not the kids This should apply to both the staff criticizers as well as the koolaid drinkers who will trash a kid that does not come here indicating lack of talent or grades etccc

You people REALLY don't know the specifics of what is going on and why some potential players are or are not offered scholarships. It is NOT "drinking the koolaid" to decide to sit back and trust the staff to make the decisions in the best interests of the program, and withholding judgment until we see what these guys can do on the court. Some of you guys speculate with far less than 100% of the facts then get your panties in a bunch over the staff making decisions you don't agree with. Take it easy on the criticism until we see how it turns out. The staff is highly motivated to succeed. They know far more than any posters to this Board know about how to win in the A10. Frankly I think all this unwarranted criticism makes it even harder for the staff to get great players signed as they and their families often read all the BS on this Board.
In the meantime, we are fully in agreement to be supportive of the players who choose to come to Bonas. Go Bonnies!

sneakers: But these posters probably got most of their information on the internet, so they do have all the facts. Everything on the internet is substantiated fact and that goes double for chain emails. ;D

actually JH and taffy I am claiming that anyone who says that he can't wait for the Bonnies to get torched is rooting against the Bonnies, because that's what that means - its simple, get it right!

No.. it's called sarcasm. Look it up. It's the writing or speaking with negative connotation when it clearly is not what the author actually thinks or wishes. There, JAC, was that tame enough not to censor and delete this post too?

west 5 - Ok, I'll bite - I looked it up and for sarcasm, every definition I saw includes in the definition the use of irony - no irony in that post and i never saw anything close to the definition you give, so the reality is YOU should have been the one to look it up. (Note the irony in telling someone else to "look it up" then giving an incorrect definition because you haven't looked it up yourself) I also recall being taught at Bonas J-school that written sarcasm is really an art-form, so unless you are an artist - DON'T TRY IT. Besides, the real point is I think there are a number of people on here who secretly (or some not so secretly) want to see the team fail or struggle so they can pound their chest and say "See, I told you!! Fire the coach and staff and get us someone better"
