Haha. The only explanation for this is that JJ is trying to be more like my man Peaches. As hard as JJ tries, he will never reach the level of the Flying Peach when it comes to basketball, partying, or running from the police.

JJ can have all the awards that he wants, but he'll never be on the Peach's legendary level, which includes having a good time in social settings and wooing the SBU shrews. FREE PEACHES!

This further backs up my theory that Redic k is half the college-athlete (and Man?) Peaches is.
JJ, let this be a lesson, "When the going gets tough, the tough dips out the back door of the OP"

While JJ spends his time writing poetry and crying, Peaches can be found chasing strange ass and letting the SBU chickenheads know What's what. Expect a 20ppg 10apg season from him next yr (If Solomon learns how to implement an offense in which you set screens to get your best shooter open shots).
You can catch Peaches ridin' dirty in '07

Oh here are the coaching geniuses again. Well what would you do if teams knew you couldn't shoot from the outside and just packed in their zone. Oh yeah set screens to get your best shooter open for a miss. Great idea. Until we prove to knock down outside jumpers we are going to see a lot of zone.

I believe JJ was pulled over for making an illegal U-turn. If I'm not mistaken the Peach peeled out at a stop sign. To support my man Ham Rucker... Peaches parties way harder.
Peaches standing with co-eds on campus is untouchable by the B-acne covered Redic k.

Your act is so tired. I understand and appreciate optimism as much as the next guy. I have no choice. I spent my time at Bonaventure during the school's worst basketball years. Yet you belittle everyone who entertains a critical thought on Coach Solomon and company. Is there no thread on this board that can criticize recent basketball play without your stamp of disapproval?
Instead, actually read this quote that I have already posted on this board. It is a second hand quote. The Bonnies, down one on the road with the final possesion of the game. In the huddle Solomon draws this play up. (As told to me by a few players):
"Ok, we gonna get the ball to Isiah... and he's gonna make something happen."
You're the athletic department's pawn. Sent to the board to blindly support each and every (false) move made by the aforementioned.

Sorry for having high hopes for The Peach, Magnus.... Maybe you have a better idea for getting him open shots. Until you enlighten me, I think setting screens for him is the ticket. Slo's method of swinging the ball around the perimiter certainly didn't work last season. Just because a team plays zone D doesn't mean you can't set screens to get guys open looks.

Peaches standing with co-eds on campus is untouchable by the B-acne covered Redic k. There is no doubt that our perimeter offense left a great deal to be desired last season, but I fall into the camp that questions the philosophy behind that offense, not the specific guards on the floor. A more crisp, screen-filled perimeter set should free up more Threeches from Peaches. Also, as far as the party scene goes, Peaches crushes Big Smooth, but puts JJ into dust. On the floor, I think we can look for the Flying Peach to be somewhere in the neighborhood of 12 ppg, 3 apg. To build on the great line by MrSmiff, "Millions of Peaches, Peaches for THREE!"

I reread my post and I think I left some important things out. So I hope this helps.
Look, I know that Solomon makes mistakes as a coach, but what I was simply pointing out in someones post was that its easy to blame the coach for not creating an offense that creates wide open outside shots. The best way to break a zone is to move the ball around the perimiter, drive to the basket and dish out, dump the ball in low and back out, and most importantly hit shots. Screens do nothing in a zone because now you can have 1 guy covering 2 people in that area. And I do have higher hopes for Relph, I thought he was a bit slow last year and hope it was because of his injury. This year I am hoping hes 100% recovered. Oh and if you watched Reddick play he created many of his own scoring opportunities.

Fair enough. As far as our zone goes... every team shoots us out of it. If we don't have the shooters on offense (and we don't) we need to be able to slow down good shooting teams and stop average shooting teams. We haven't been able to do that in three years. Quickest way to become a better team is to develop a strong defensive unit.
LSU is a good example. No, we don't have near the athletes they do, but here's my point. Terrible shooting team, frustrated opponents (especially the man in the title of this thread). Right now, we're running too much 1 on 1. I'm just not a big fan of Solomon's famous 4 out 1 down offense.
