st john was ahead of waterman as a frosh. if he could have stayed eligible who knows what might have been. i agree with fjs64 on mccully, he did improve quite a bit as he became more mature. also dont forget watermans block of a paul anthonys shot against canisius in a double o.t. thriller bona victory at the aud !!!!

Agree that Ndoye could be on the verge of something really big.
Has anyone heard anything on how Ndoye spent his summer? And how that went? Firsthand reports of how he looks on the court these days?

Ndoye spent the summer working out in Minnesota with his cousin Gorgui Dieng. Dieng plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves and last year made the NBA's 2nd team All Rookie Team. He is a former 1st team All Big East and was 2013 Big East defensive player of the year. Good player for Youssou to be working out with. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gorgui_Dieng

Working out with an NBA player? Well, okay. I guess that could help you get better!
More optimistic than I was before. Damn!

An observation on the big guy and his pro potential - one thing's for sure he'll have to stay on the court to make him self noticed. If he does catch on with a team at the next level, the fouls he accumulates by the bucket at this level are "incedental contact" at the next!

Yousoo, is going to HAVE TO become a Different type of player this year then last. Coach Moore needs to explain to him that guys are going to foul him intentionally, ruff him up, and do anything they can to get his head out of the game. He will need that focused " I can do it " , stabile attitude. He needs to convert on offense and become dominate on defense.
We could be watching another NBA Rookie this season!

Depending on YN's senior campaign this could prove true. I do believe he would see significant minutes on every D1 team. He brings some intangibles to the court every game.

I have a name that goes back a bit......and will need input from Jiim62 and AZ63 for their comments. From the class of '62 my choice is 6' 9" Bob McCully.....I saw him during his Junior and Senior years where he averaged 9 ppg and then 13 ppg.....nicknamed the Swan for his JR year to push him toward being more graceful and Tiger his senior year to make him more agressive. Playing center alongside Tom Stith and Fred Crawford he was a key player in earning the #2 ranking during his Junior year. During his senior year I remember a game when he scored 36 points. He was drafted in the NBA draft. But Harken back to his freshman year (frosh did not play on the varsity) and a sophomore year where I heard he did not resemble a basketball player. But physical maturity led him from not a basketball player to a pretty darn good player. Jim and AZ....what are your thoughts Frank: You are very correct about Bob. As a freshman, he was about as ungainly as a baby stork but Bob rapidly progressed and became a formidable power under the basket. And even today, he plays a super game of tennis with those long arms of his and is a high school tennis coach. I watched a tennis game between Bob and Orrie Jirele a few years ago and Bob looked like a B52 on the court.
