79, Agree on your post. From what I'm thinking and told it may be a situation where playing one game doesn't hurt him (think a sprained ankle) but they could have said you need to get this fixed right after. I'm not sure. I am sure, like you are, that we won't know until right before the Dayton tip if he's out or not. If he's playing the story/my post was total BS. We'll see in a few days I guess Ian your sources were correct. I'm hearing his surgery is scheduled for 2pm today. Time for iakeem to step up. I like his game. Let's go. Big opportunity for Iakeem.

I am trying to find a silver lining here and this is the only thing I can come up with. Now that Jaylen is out maybe Jalen gets to play more bc of our guard depth. I am not holding my breath, I am guessing Taqqee gets more playing time, but if Jalen gets more time maybe he starts to contribute. Then Jaylen comes back for A10 tourney, and we now have more depth on our team. This would help our tourney chances and help our team for next year.

Next year we will have a sophomore PG with a year of starting experience backed up by a senior who started games down the stretch with Posley playing the other guard. On paper that would look like a back court that could compete with anybody in this league. If you're looking for a silver lining I guess that would be it.

I'm hoping NELSON KAPUTO reclassifies and is wearing brown & white or whatever those colors were last night.

Reading between the lines of tweets, I wonder if Iakeem was also sick last night. I can't see the logic of not having him in after Jay foulded out. Isn't he our #2 PG? As mentioned in another thread, Iakeem has not been a good free throw shooter. He's 11-23 on the season. Now, this might or might not be why Schmidt had him on the bench in the final minute. Of course, in hindsight, it's better to have a poor free throw shooter at the line than to turn the ball over before the clock starts. I saw the other thread, and, as I said, I don't see the logic of not putting your ostensible #2 PG in the game when #1 went out. I was actually speculating that perhaps he was also sick. In that same thread was posted the free throw shooting %s of the key players (and Jalen thrown in for good measure). Iakeem's numbers were not out of line with the other choices to put into the game. When (if) it came to intentional fouling time, you wanted to get the ball to Posley as quickly as possible just like in every other recent game. Otherwise, you needed someone that can handle it reliably by not getting trapped in the corner or throwing it away. Maybe Iakeem doesn't fit that bill, but then we have no #2 PG. It looking like we are going to need one now, though.

The other PG who fouled out was not recruited by our guy and was signed with jacksonville and only became available late in the process...

If Jay is out for the season, I guess we just don't play with a point guard because they can't make foul shots.

While the Bonnies may be inconsistent your hatred for Schmidt is very consistent.

Do they recruit as a staff or on their own? [/quote] That's a very good question you ask 87. To some it seems there is a very scattered approach, doesn't mean "hatred".

is this confirmed that Adams is done for the season? Nothing from the school, but Gary Parrish (CBS Sports) just reported it, so yes.

Brownindian11 - the absence of confirmation is apparently irrelevant to those who will take any excuse to hurl complaints and insults about the staff - why wait?
