I hope they are able to get more playing time wherever they land and wish them both the best.

Wishing them both the best at their next stop. The preference is that everyone stays to graduation, but the reality is that almost every recruit has certain expectations on the way in and some will be disappointed. This certainly gives Schmidt & Co plenty of scholarships to work with as they try to surround the core (Wright, Posley, Jaylen, Gregg & Idris) with the complementary players that will be needed in order to compete next year. Hopefully Tyson or one of the two early commits will be able to contribute...

This is apparently the way of the world now, but this much turnover suggests another chaotic OOC with damning losses in games expected to be won.

Wish them both the very best. No surprise with the total lack of playing time for both. In Conf play X had 1.7 mins & Jalen 1.4 in garbage time.

I hope it turns out well for Adams , Alston , and Smith., but I fail to see how them leaving is going to translate into damning losses. They. Never played and weren't going to next year. Kids want to play and if you look at the list of transfers this is not a unique situation to SBU. If we get some replacements next year could be a great year.

I think 79 was alluding to our OOC this season with so many new players, they blew some games they shouldnt have. Next year we will also have a bunch of new players. I agree it could be a great year though, we will see.

We return 3 starters, including our two leading scorers and our very high quality point guard. We also have Denzel and Idris, who saw quite a bit of time on the floor towards the end of the season. We will be OK. We have two good-looking frosh already signed and offers out to many good prospects. I'm betting the recruiting program brings home the bacon and the Bonnies take another step forward in 2015-16.

I do like the projected lineup for next year's squad...lead by "the core four" Adams, Posley, Gregg and Wright - if the staff can round up a couple of guys who will rebound and play D, it could get very interesting, very quickly for the brown and white. Prior to Adams getting injured, there seemed to be pretty good chemistry between the point guard and Posley--Wright is as steady as the winter snow in the enchanted mountains...a current version of john hayes...Gregg, as shown with his 15 rebound game late in the season is just beginning to scratch the surface of his potential. Perhaps a center position by committee will work..rebounding and playing tough D is a matter of desire along with physical and mental toughness...heck, they could rotate three young guys at the C spot and say, rebound and play tough D and you will be the man...will be interesting to see how it plays out.

I was alluding to this past season, and other seasons as well. My observation is that we are turning over more that half the team.
Granted that neither Adams nor Smith played much (or Alston either), but that wasn't the basis of my concern. We probably all believe we have a pretty good core of 3, but we will have over 60% of the team being guys that have never played together before (I'm including Tyson). How long does it take for everyone to get on the same page? To "buy-in?" We will probably see 6 guys play all the minutes for most of the first half of the season again. All of this leads me to foresee more Siena, UMES, etc. (just to name some from this past year) losses that "keep us out of the NIT discussion" come March.
I'm just not a fan of the turnover ratio we've seen the past few years, and I double down on my disappointment when the holes get filled with JUCOs.

Well, Alston played quite a bit last year, and programs are typically built on players making an improvement and beginning to play as they get older. So it does have quite a large impact unless you can get freshmen/JUCOs who can play right away.

Don't understand the desire to recruit "role players" to "compliment" as someone mentioned earlier. Why would we not look to bring in the best talent and expect them to challenge the remaining "core" three players? Yes, you can only send out 5 players at a time and they can only use one ball, but we should not be looking to recruit role players to compliment anybody. If that becomes our premise for recruiting, I submit we'd be in a very bad place. Yes, if they can't supplant a starter they become "role players" but looking for backups is not anything we should be doing - in my humble opinion.

Schmidt has a great track record with JUCOs. Posley is a JUCO. Cumberbatch, John Wall, Eric Mosley, the list goes on and on and on.
