well done, deuce...it's not criticism that's the problem or disagreement...it's the tone of the criticism...i truly believe 99% of the people who post their opinions on this board have bonas best interest at heart...and i'm concerned that some people's tone turns others off to the point that some people actually "block" others posts...this doesn't solve anything...it's out of constructive criticism and well thought-out disagreements that positive change can come about...i believe it was efsboca who pointed out that every change provides opportunities and how you deal with those changes determines the outcomes...let's face the changes with constructive criticism and look upon the disagreements as opportunities to forge positive change...

This is not about change, and accepting change, this is about how Bonas and some administrators treat our own. Treating a significant portion of our community like so much trash is hardly the measure of positive change. The students and their unbridled spirit for the Brown and White are the key to this program, not some 50ish disconnected banker who anoints a new and disconnected AD to run our program. Herding students into a pen is hardly respectful to the students, placing security troopers in close proximity is hardly respectful, creating the immediate spector of conflict by placing high roller seats in direct contact with students is hardly respectful. Its all about the money. Greed is a dangerous vice, its corrosive to tradition, and attacks the very foundation of our community. The clock is still ticking, junk the seating or send TK on to UB land. By the way everyone on this board worth his salt asks for the intersession of our patrons, there is no membership card for devotion.

And round and round the merry go rounds goes - will it ever stop?

Is there anyone out there? Make him stop.

]i don't know how many people are "ok" with it...for me (and i think some others) the feeling is this is the hand we were dealt with (whether it could've been done differently is something that could be debated ad infinitum and won't change anything) so let's make the best of it... By all accounts this is the hand we were dealt: - A-10 is putting "pressure" on teams to control access to court, with per Tim Kenney apparent pointed emphasis at St. Bona and St. Joes. -At no point are we told we have to get rid of the only thing that makes RC unique. - Tim has plenty of options given this "hand" and he chose a terrible one. Between the Duke rationalization and his bloating about his experience at Mullins center I am very disheartened to see how out of touch he is with what Bona really needs. Facts: - students off the court makes environment easier for opponents - athletic department admits new seats will not prevent court storming - teams have called bonaventure complaining about student environment ( Watson and other past AD's never got this call??!) - no mandate has been made by conference to do anything - st. Joes is facing same pressure and is doing nothing as of now. I am not saying do nothing, although that's a better alternative than the current one. What I am saying is do something that addresses court access but keeps the one thing that makes RC unique alive. Guys we are all on the same side but some of you have to stop rationalizing a bad plan with the assumption we were forced to do this, we weren't. I am not saying Tim has ill will but he shot Bona in the foot for no apparent reason. For all the external disadvantages we face I am not sure why anyone would defend imposing a disadvantage of our own creation. We did not have to do this, no one forced it but our own AD.

bonafan08...whether our ad or the a-10 dealt the cards doesn't matter, in my opinion, at this point...what does matter is how "we" react and i'll define "we" as the students...i may be wearing brown and white colored glasses, but i don't think this is gonna be a disadvantage...i say the students are gonna come thru and provide the "6th man" kind of advantage that the bonnies need...so any students who may be reading this, take this as a challenge: show up...be loud and be proud...so loud and so proud that when that first game is over on november 13 no one will have any reason to talk about st bonaventure being at a disadvantage on their own floor...

If our own AD put The Bonnie's at a disadvantage we should continue to fight it. Bonaventure is way to fragile to just be giving away the few advantages we have and forced to make due. Will we have a great season this and hopefully next year.. Absolutely. Will students show up? .... Guaranteed Overtime will the students not on the court hurt atmosphere, intimidation factor, reputation of gym and program... yes. Are the student seats on the court just about only thing that makes RC unique in a world of copycat gyms?... Yes Did anyone force the athletic department to eliminate students on court ?... No. Why do it? It is very simple, our athletic director made a bad and over reaction of a decision,I am not sure how we can ignore such a bad unnecessary move. It's like someone told Tim he should be careful and wear sunscreen and instead he started taking chemotherapy.

I used to care about this argument but then someone put 1 row of seats in front of me and it killed my enthusiasm

I used to care about this argument but then someone put 1 row of seats in front of me and it killed my enthusiasm 1 row of seats made VCU, UMass etc.. happy so clearly it means something. We have an AD who in this instance would rather appease our competitors than his own fan base. Just looking for Bona to be better than "status quo" of bending over and taking it. If you and others are ok with taking it, fine, enjoy it.

Had they put up a barrier, you would have a point. If anything, its worse for the players now. What started the whole thing was that picture of kids pointing and laughing at a UMass player on the sideline. Now, that player will crash into metal seats, which to me is worse. Once the season starts and people realize not one thing is different about the environment, this argument will cease.

There is a logical fallacy in this argument, but I didn't pay enough attention in Dr. Hughes's class to tell you what is is.

While looking through my old media guides at the De Soto, I get that longing feel for what this program used to be like...The lower bowl packed 18 hours in advance of each game, as students were decked out in their respective dorm floor outfits. Cool nicknames like tard kings were prevalent. Bonas had a snazzy pep band that brought the house down. Add in the ultimate crooner in Lou and it was a the most cherished venue this side of Pauley Pavilion. Not sure if anyone ever mentioned it, but ESPN once rated it as one of the 5 toughest arenas in the country. It had the proud Brown Indian mascot working the students up into a frothy lather, the lil squaw didn't hurt at all either. The students used to march in a coffin with the current opponents moniker festively displayed, all to the glorious tune of Wade in the Water (just bringing up the music on YouTube makes my inner thighs moist with anticipation). When the Bonnies scored their first bucket, toilet paper would rain down from the heavens. Pre-game beers at The 'Skellar with joyous friends. At halftime of the game, you could saunter into the concourse for a full-sized wiener (unlike the tiny, shriveled wieners they serve nowadays) from the concession stand and regale yourself in a delightful conversation of how great the Bonnies are, and life in general. After yet another Bonnies victory you could jockey for position to get out of the parking lot. The race to Angee's was rite of passage. Do you cut through the cemetery and head the back way, or do you take the not-so secret roadway along the railroad tracks that brought you out to where Constitution Ave is today, or were you the traditionalist and went your merry way through the normal means of traffic? Fast-forward to today's culture. Nothing as it used to be like and now the beloved students aren't even on the floor. I cried another tear for this dwindling program. It all started with the move from the Armory. For 50 years, its just been one thing after another. What next? Cats and dogs living together?
