Chuck...we can agree to disagree but you are negative toward the recruits and negative toward the coach...it's your right and you're entitled to your opinion.
But at least be honest that while you wish Bonaventure to succeed it would be much more gratifying if it came in the absence of one Anthony Solomon.
You downgrade his coaching tactics, you pencil whip his recruits and blame him for every 18/19 year old kid who changes his mind and leaves the program.
What's next?
I'm thinking his mustache just has to go!!!!

Yeah, I could do without the mustache, and I love a good mustache.
So, if you lay into Chuck about his skepticism can I lay into you and everyone else here for your eternal optimism, over hyping and constant reminder that "hey, there was a scandal, blah blah blah" as if we didn't know?
Solomon has to be held accountable for all those things you mentioned above.
His recruits, for the most part, have been poor. His game coaching speaks for itself, even though I've been told he runs nothing in practice.
And, yes, when there's a rash of transfers it is reflective on the coach. I know for a fact there's a lack of respect for him amongst the team.

So, if you lay into Chuck about his skepticism can I lay into you and everyone else here for your eternal optimism, over hyping and constant reminder that "hey, there was a scandal, blah blah blah" as if we didn't know? I think it's more pessimism than skepticism. I got news for you Mike and it ain't nice. The scandal is and will continue to affect enrollment and the basketball program for many more years to come. A school our size never quite runs away from it. The big boys and their alumni supporters sorta chuckle (wink wink nudge nudge) when the NCAA hits them with sanctions. Little guys like us wallow in the mud for years to come. It affects applications, enrollments and the student-athletes in the program that was sanctioned. It is definitely going to affect the caliber of the players coming into such a program for quite some time. I am content to let the time pass. There may be an "end of game" for Coach Anthony at the end of next season and I'm cool with that...he had his turn at the helm but if you expect a new hotshot coach to come in and turn the place on it's ear in a year or two, I don't think it will happen. That's the only reason I preach restraint against the lambasting of AS and the lads who don the brown-n-white and for chrissake the lads who haven't even donned the brown-n-white yet. They are the time line until a rainbow appears!

UC Santa Barbara has signed 2 - 6' 8" forwards, neither of whom are name Kaba. Seems like a better chance for playing time for him at Bonas. I sure wish any one with any scoop about what's going on would spill. It sounded like we had a quality big man all wrapped-up ? Is that still the case or did it fall apart ?

I've never called a recruit a bad player, which I define as pessimism. Nor have I called Solomon a bad coach. Dem you see things as being black or white. You accept a person as only an optimist or a pessimist, or either you support Solomon or you are against Solomon. Dem there is a large area in between that you do not want to accept.
Dem the honest truth, I would find it very satisfying to have Anthony Solomon succeed. Solomon has the morals and character that is needed to represent St. Bonaventure. Basically he is everything that JVBK was not. This still does not change the fact he has struggled as a coach. I believe it will be difficult to match last season's record, but I would be thrilled to see double digit wins and Bonnies making A-10 tournament. As Mike calls it, I'm skeptical and I guess you'll call it being pessimistic. I call it being honest.
Enough of this personal spat. I would rather discuss basketball.
