There is no way Sir Charles is pro Bona, he strikes me as someone who does not take the time to do his homework and safely stays with the Power Conferences to hide his lack of knowledge.

CBS drops us to a 9 seed, the other sites have us a 10 or Dayton. Bigger issue is health, overcome the committees concerns about us going to next week. Heal up boys!

As I said above, Jerry Palm was at the table during the interview with Castiglione. This isn't like insider trading, is it? You don't go to jail for giving up intel. I think the two of them talked it over and Palm has some informed insights. Add to that the Bona standing on RPI and KPI, I think Dayton is worst case.

Bona moved to 11 seed in latest bracketwag: www.bracketwag.com/bracket.htmlPlease, Lord, I would love that: playing the Longhorns in NYC. My son is a huge TX fan. I would have to meet him up there and talk trash over Texas longnecks and Molson Canadian before and after a big Bona win over Shaka.

I think the two of them talked it over and Palm has some informed insights. Add to that the Bona standing on RPI and KPI, I think Dayton is worst case. I think Dayton is the worst case as well. If we were truly slated as a 10 before (which seems appropriate when doing the Pepsi Challenge on all of the bubble type or late entry teams) then an OT loss to a good Davidson squad won't hurt (unless Davidson wins it all, then I am not sure how it affects us, but if SJU loses today, I can't see us being below SJU in the committee's eyes). If we are correct and that is the case, I hope we still hold onto the 10 seed because it would give us a little more time to heal (especially if the issue with Jay wasn't just a crappy night but injury related). It didn't appear any of the injuries were that bad, just being banged up. Posley kept coming back in so he probably has a lower ankle sprain from rolling the ankle, and those can heal up quickly and be wrapped and played on. Kaputo has seemed to lose a little of the coaches confidence and seems a little tentative when going to the basket. As a result, when he subs in, it seems like there is a drop in movement or production. I think he needs to be aggressive. I think Woods played pretty well last night, but both he and Jordan need to be more aware and active. If there are two guys I don't mind seeing aggressive and putting up five fouls its those two, because that means they have been active. I just don't want to see them aggressive and not aware, as that is a bad combo. Jordan seemed like he was out of it on the awareness side last night and as a result seemed like he played very tentative. I disliked the announcers. They kept saying how we needed to rebound better on the defensive side (it is what our stats clearly show), but when they were restating that stat last night it was always on long rebounds from long missed shots which makes D rebounding very difficult. I will re-watch the game today, but I counted several threes that were made by Davidson after long rebounds and snap passes that were made after long shots while several of our guys were trying to chase down the long rebounds. Quite frankly, it was good discipline by Davidson and damn good coaching. On our end, we'd have 4 people running toward the long rebound which opened up guys for open 3's after they got the board. Grind it out tomorrow and hopefully we'll get to continue this good journey. Love this team, and will really miss Posley. Kid is fun to watch (with the exception of around 30 seconds last night when he had those two turnovers on silly moves), and is a warrior. Love the attitude and the leadership. I think we will be able to replace the two seniors production next year with people stepping up (we now have that kind of group) but we may be worse only because both Marcus and Dion are great leaders. Someone will have to fill that void and they will be big shoes to fill.

lunardi on espn right now just said team to best play spoiler is davidson. He is glowing, seems like he is thrilled they beat us. Explained they have a good shot to win today and would be interesting if they won the tournament how it would shake out. Also said uconn with a win today would be in, but even with a loss its realistic they would be in. GO VCU

He has 4 A-10 teams in and instead of putting us in separate brackets he has us and SJU in the east. I also don't like us being an 11 and SJU and VCU being 10's. I still think we should be a 10 and SJU should be 11. We finished higher in conference and beat them twice head to head. Head to head has to count for something, it was not a fluke. Just weird.

Bracketology is not very accurate, but they have us now as a 10th seed playing Seton Hall 7 seed.
I would much rather play ND than Seton Hall.... Seton Hall is a deep that could go very deep in this tournament.

ESPN just referred to us as already being in the field

FWIW, the College Game Day set of Bilas, Greenberg, Jay Williams, and Rece Davis voted on their last four teams. They did not consider St. Bonaventure because they assumed them to already be in the field. Greenberg even pointed to Syracuse's win over Bona in his case for Syracuse getting a bid.

efsboca, I don't think the head-to-head wins over SJU is good enough by to put us above them. Many people here have pointed that out, but it's only one metric of many. Dance Card considers many metrics and had the Joe's one slot above us even before yesterday's results, which will widen the spread. Main thing for the Joeys is their road wins, about the best in Division I.

great observation, they kept saying bona needs to rebound better on the defensive boards as another 3 pt attempt by davidson soared over the bona players heads past the free throw line. both of those pseudo annoncer guys gannon, and cuff played college ball, so they should know better. the long rebounds on 3 pt shots is the reason you have so few double digit rebounders in the college game today.

faffy
I noticed that too last night. There 3 point misses just carried way out. We would crash the boards, and the ball was already back in a shooters hands. Hard to defend.

correct dadster81. its pretty much impossible to rebound when the shot caroms well over your head. just like when announcers say a team needs to get back on defense when a 50 foot pass is thrown. i dont think there has ever been a hoopster who can transition from offense to defense in a nano second.

I would not mind an 11 seed if it didn't involve a trip to Dayton...a 3 in the next round would be a lot better than a 2 or 1 if we were seeded 7-10
