Looks like Providence and Tennessee are involved with Holt. He'd be a real nice addition.

wgt, I saw him on his visit. He was with his mother. I thought for sure he was coming but he made the right decision. And got a solid year of experience. Let's hope he liked the school. He got a raw deal at Indiana As we know it's all about the fit. With those kind of numbers he's guaranteed significant minutes here on a top A-10 team. Why mess around with the big schools? Plus his family can watch all of his games. He would be a tremendous addition here with 2 years left to play with an elite backcourt getting him the ball. Come on Emmitt. It's all about the fit.

I would take Obokoh in a second. He may even get his lost year of eligibility reinstated. I wouldn't expect him to be great, but he has size, talent, and intelligence. I don't see how it would hurt. We would still have another scholarship available for a JUCO or whatever. I want to get the best players possible. I could care less if they played at Syracuse or JCC-Cattaraugus. Speaking of which, does Charles Perry still have eligibility? Seriously, though, I expect the coaches to at least inquire about Obokoh. You bring up the name Charles Perry, in the late 90's we had what looked on paper as a fantastic recruiting class......I have trouble remembering the names but Charles Perry and Leandro Paladino (from Argentina) were 2 of the 4 names. Perry never even got started, and Paladino went pro in his native Argentina to provide money for his family. Can anyone name who the others in that recruiting class was? Didn't we have a verbal from a guy named Jermaine Clarke? I think Prato was the door prize for Paladino. I was one of many who looked at his numbers and said what are we doing? But, was so glad to be wrong on Patricio.

Amazing what google can turn up. Chuck posted this here in 2011:
"Here is the Bonnies recruiting class of 1997 and the star recruit was suppose to be Palladino. Now we know the star player was PVP. St. Bonaventure: Men: Etienne Norris, 5-10, Zanesville (Ohio) HS; Isaac King, 6-5, Mount Aloysius College (Pa.); Peter Van Paassen, 6-9, Zoetermeer, Netherlands; Leandro Palladino, 6-4, Concercion Del Uruguay HS (Entre Rios, Argentina); Charles Perry, 6-9, Olean (N.Y.) HS."

I honestly don't care how they'd fit with us, I don't want any Syr transfers. I'm not taking their fallout. That's a really dumb reason not to take a transfer. His numbers dont jump off the page at you but he did have some production in the non conference and could probably help us.

Does anybody think that St. Bonaventure should try and land Chinoso Obokoh from Syracuse? Having watched him play at Bishop Kearney High school a few times, I think he would be a great addition for next year. He's 6'9 and has some length. If we recruit on potential, I think he is one of the best options that St. Bonaventure can get to come in as a transfer, and can play immediately.
Also, Buffalo native Howard Washington has decommitted from Butler and reclassified to the 2017 class. ESPN had him as the 24th best PG in the 2016 class. He was recruited heavily by Butler and Wake Forest. St. Bonaventure didn't seem to be interested in him initially, but now that he is opening up recruitment again I would make an offer.

We should certainly give Obokoh some thought. I dont know how productive he can be in 1 year but he might be better than what is out there.
We were interested in Washington early but he had his sights higher and since he decommitted from Butler I would think he has his sights even higher now.

Correct me if I'm wrong please, but weren't we talking about Malachi Richardson, from Cuse, possibly transferring to Bona's, not to long ago?! I believe some said he wouldnt be a great fit, only because we have to many players at that position.. Then he goes and has that tournament run, and is thinking about entering the NBA Draft! lol

Any feeling on Caleb Joseph, Taquee's old roommate and an SU bench warmer. Joseph had a tremendous number of high level offers, and was a 4 star recruit. Here is his profile from Verbal Commits....watch the video, I thought I saw Taqqee.... www.verbalcommits.com/players/kaleb-joseph

Taqqee is #1 in the Kaleb highlights.
The team that Kaleb goes to will get a high quality PG who lost all confidence as he sat after playing over 27 mpg as a frosh & starting 30 Cuse games.
In his freshman year he had 5.9 ppg shooting 38% FGs, 20% TREYS & 72% from the line. His play making was the key with 117 assists to just 72 turn overs. His 1.6 A/TO ratio for a frosh was remarkable.

I like to pick out a player that I have heard of or seen and do a bit of analysis. Marques Townes, is transferring from Fairleigh Dickinson, he is a 6'4" shooting guard, and will have 2 years of eligibility after he sits out his transfer year. Here is a kid that was instrumental in getting his team into the NCAA tournament (they beat Wagner in the conference tournament), and now he is looking to jump to a higher level team.....a kid who has been improving, and now is ready for the next step....very similar to Matt Mobley. He is from NJ.

Iona will be interesting next year, of course we know that they added Jon Severe from Fordham, and now adding Sam Cassell Jr from Uconn, the son of a former NBA player (Jr is no where near as good as his father). Both can play next year. www.verbalcommits.com/players/sam-cassell-jr
