JAC you have it correct. Apparently there is a scholarship player who will be leaving the Bonnies. I believe it is a player who has been struggling with his grades. I'm surprised there hasn't been an official anouncement on Gibbs.

It could be Williams, but it could be other players as well.

Has summer school started? If so, does anyone know what players are attending? Is it possible Williams is among them?

Williams is at summer school so I know it is not him that is leaving. Also, from what I hear they have not offered anyone another scholarship but one is open and I am not at liberty to say at this time who is the odd man out on the team right now. But trust me there will be a new addition in due time.

I'm sure there are many of us who'd like to know. Thanks.

If what I am hearing is true which my source is a very reliable one itis someone that no one will really miss. It has to do with an injury. I am not sure if they are medically releasing him from his scholarship but he will not be playing this year. I am not sure what will happen next year though.

I don’t believe that Kern Carter has ever fully recovered from his serious groin pull that caused him to sit out the 02-03 season after a 26ppg, 6 assists, 5 rebs & 5 steals his senior year at, always powerful, Father Henry Carr HS in Toronto. His groin again flared up throughout this past season & prevented him from playing up to his ability. In spite of this, I considered him our best on ball defender who always covered our opponents best outside threat. In spite of his nagging groin he managed to shoot .429 & had a team 2nd best 1.62 Assist/TO ratio. Kern’s a quality kid who put it all on the line every one of his 11 mins per game played last season.

I heard that it is most likely Kern who will sit out. He is much like the past situation with Cortez Sutton. I think that if Kern's groin heals though, he can be a very good player. It will be tough for him though with the other competition at the guard spots that Carter plays at. best of luck to him and hope it all works at well.

Speaking of Cortez.......... I noticed that he graduated last weekend even though he wasn't on campus this fall, how did he manage that? Was he taking classes at Hilbert or something along those lines?

Cortez transferred to American International College in Springfield, MA, the same school at which fellow DC native and Bona transfer Kenny McFarland starred in his post-Bona days. Sutton's mother spoke with Coach Solomon at length during the graduation ceremony, with coach even jotting down notes throughout the conversation. Paul Williams has been working out with strength and conditioning coach Darryn Fiske, as have Carson, Dunston, Lottin, Relph, and Smith, so apparently Williams is staying, possibly pending academics.
