I think we were in the 80s or 90s last year, Cope. Someone here will probably be able to recall.... Now I've looked it up and we were #83. It's something to lose Dion and Marcus and still have such a bright picture. Edit: BTW, I thought there was a tweet that Dion signed with a pro team in Japan. Not sure whether that's been mentioned here. Has Marcus landed a position yet? I saw the same tweet, that the school also put out, announcing that Dion is playing in Japan this yr!. But i haven't heard anything from Marcus yet, i keep my eyes open, always checking to see, and haven't heard anything yet..

After watching as many games as i could of the Summer League, i still don't get how Marcus didnt sign with anyone?! He could of easily played with the majority of the players out there, and shined imo!.. St. Joe's Miles has one good yr, and he gets a look from the Mavs i think, Polsey with the ability to run the point and score from anywhere, would of been a great fit JUST for the SL alone (with it being a pick up game style, more or less)..

His agent screwed up big time. Could have been with the Wizards but he advised Marcus to wait it out for other offers.

Coincidentally, Kenpom also pegs the Bonnies at #79 with an overall record of 18-12. However, in looking at the individual game projections he has us losing only two non-conference games (FL and Hofstra) and eight conference games, which would put us at 20-10. His projected record of 10-8 in conference would give a three-way tie for fourth with Davidson and Richmond. The year's toughest projected game is against Florida, which he sees us losing by 10 points. Next would be at Dayton where we are 9 point underdogs. By Kenpom's system, the Gators are also the highest ranked team we face at #17 while VCU (#33) and Dayton (#37) will be tops in conference. It's a good enough place to start. Beating the Gators will get a lot of attention.

I thought I would recycle this old thread. Maybe it will be enlightening for those who disparage the use of statistical inference. If you do, you will probably write it off as mere coincidence that after completing the OOC Kenpom still has the Bonnies ranked exactly where he had them pre-season. The first 12 games have given us an ample body of data to show that this team has a high-powered offense, which ranks 36th nationally. Against that we have a defense that ranks 187th. Unpacking the obvious, we're held back by our 3-pont defense, which ranks 300th, and our defensive rebounding at #306. The advisory service projects an A10 record of 11-7, not good enough to get an invitation to the NCAA unless we correct the problems on the defensive side of the game. Sorry if this info is redundant. I haven't been able to work up the enthusiasm to read whatever may have been written on other threads.
